powder reviews for 45 ACP

I've loaded CFE and titegroup for my 1911 shooting BBI 230 gr bullets for competiton. Does anyone have recommendations on other powders for competition loads with power factor of 165 to 175?

I don't load for competition, but I know Power Pistol is pretty good for 45 acp and I don't believe it would be difficult to load it to whatever power factor you desire.

Currently I'm using titegroup as I have a good supply.

I have used accurate #2, accurate nitro 100, winchester 231, bullseye. Of these nitro 100 was my favorite as it was clean burning.

I haven't tried it, but looking at the load data, Ramshot Competition should work for the power factor you want.

Yep. Hard to beat bullseye. I load both .45 ACP and 9mm with it. Someone told me that BBI doesn't recommend titegroup with their rounds because it makes them smokey. Didn't come from the horses mouth though.

I haven't found it smokey, but it does smell a bit different. Only noticeable on an indoor range though, and then it's not like it smells bad...

The more grains it takes for a load, the more forgiving it is to tiny errors from your scale etc.   231 / #5 are good, you get around 5, 5.5 or so grains on a light bullet and it will shoot flat and true out to the full 50 yards.   WST has a good reputation as well but I have not tried it.   Remember to weigh your bullets too,  keep them all the same to within your margin of error on your scale.
