Marines:

"The face of the Marine Corps, and the last thing the enemy will see!" A Marine Force Recon Sergeant as he prepares to grab his ruck and head back out into the Vietnamese jungle. Vietnam ; May, 1971.

Navy:  A Navy SEAL, carrying a Mk23 5.56mm Machine Gun (Stoner 63), moves through deep mud as he makes his way ashore from a boat, during a combat operation in South Vietnam in 1970. (U.S. Navy photograph by PHC A. Hill)

Air Force:  Seems that I remember Star Wars using the Snake Eye tail fins from those bombs.  The purpose of the cool looking tail fins is to slow the bomb so that it won't impact the jet when it explodes.  (Note:  I'm hoping that is an Air Force jet)

Pretty sure the last one is from a diorama. Definitely not real.

I can't wait to see what the VA has in store for me today. I get to get asked about why I feel the need to have guns, whether I was raped by my superiors while in service as well as why I prefer private care over VA care. Anytime you say anything even remotely outside their comfort zone they go on the offensive with threats. Maybe I will record today's visit for posterity.

I wish I could just avoid the VA but the last time I tried to avoid them they said they would stop my VA benefits if I did not come in for my annual visits.

Mr G, just tell the truth, guns are mounted on a ships deck. Edited by RED333

Perhaps I should mention my silencers, stockpiles of ammunition and my strong dislike of people who ask too many questions.

That should get you bonus points.

I have never been asked that, the only thing my health care provider at the VA asks in that area is if I have been depressed over the year. I will always say no, even if I ever was I would never tell them that.

Fun times. We were waiting and another vet flipped his lid. Asked my wife for the time and then jumped up started ranting and raving. Then he threatened to kill the doctors. He was taken away.

I haven't been asked lately but 4-5 years ago they asked me if I was sexually assaulted while in. I told them no and then they asked very specifically if I had been raped by my supervisor, like they knew something I didn't.

I was making a joke about the guns question with all the letters apparently going out.

Well...I think my recruiter raped me, lol.  It sure felt like it after I got in and realized all the lies he told me...

I have never been asked any such questions at the VA.

Me either, and I've been lost in the VA system for a long, long time.

Bonus care, they cancelled my MRI again. 6th time but who's counting.

At least I can go to a clinic close to me now. Last year they rescheduled all my stuff to Nashville. Because I am an employee of the VA mtn home in Johnson city. They didn't want me going to a place for care, that I worked at. Yep, I don't and never have worked for the VA. Nice huh? Funny/sad they didn't believe me. I really could cuss right now but I won't.

All of this is actually an improvement over what it was like 10 years ago, let alone 25.

The Army pic above s bada$$ whether it's real or fake.
