Have they quit making .22WMR? UPDATE: NOW IN THE WILD

Or are we in some sort of Tennessee exclusion zone?

Bought a new gun and can't even find a box of ammo for it. Well, I did find one box but refused to buy it. It was priced like premo .308!

It's been only a myth for a while now. Since Sandy Hook at least. I emailed Winchester a while back and asked if they had plans to ever make any more. They never emailed back.

I can prove it once existed.

I've got a little over a box of CCI, but I've had them for years. Not sure now if I should even shoot them.

I picked up a couple of boxes of Hornady 22 Mag at Academy in Franklin yesterday.  A buddy who was there about 10 minutes after me told me a guy and his wife came in when he was there and bought up most of what was left ~1000 rounds.

You didn't buy it??!!?

Yeah, they didn't have my flavor.

I did manage a box of my favorite .300 BLK hog round and a new St. Croix rod, though.

I've got to stop going in there.

Montgomery County Shooting Complex had several boxes as of this past Sunday. It was almost $17.00 a box of 50 if I remember correctly.

It's typically made on the same production lines as .22lr. When the .22lr supplies get closer to normal, you'll start to see more .22wmr. If you look around, you'll see that a lot of the available .22wmr is foreign manufacture.

Academy in Smyrna had one box of Hornady 30gr Vmax for $13.99 when I was there at about 5 Wednesday. I don't have a 22mag so I left it.

It still shows up every now and then... like a winning lottery ticket. :/

.... When the .22lr supplies get closer to normal, ...

Yep, folks been saying that for almost 3.5 years now.

Guys at work are having problems finding it too. I've never owned one and don't plan on it because, of the ammo problem. How is the .17 HMR ammo these days?

.17hmr is scarce also. This is ridiculous. I have a hard time believing that people are buying it all up as soon as it comes out. It appears to me that very little is being delivered, so my guess is there are warehouses and warehouses full somewhere.

The local gun stores around cordova have always has .17hmr in stock the last 3 years or so...but wanted local gun store prices for it!

now $13.99 is the correct price for 22mag. LGS wanted $20 for the same. Guess I'll just continue my quest. I've seen lots of 17 on the shelves.

That warehouse is called the internet. Just go to Gun Broker and do a search on .22 ammo. Seven pages of ads and that's just one site. Price scalping is still alive and well on .22's. :2cents:
