Gunvault biometric safe - break in with a paperclip

I always took them as small children proof in reality.

Which is all they're really intended to be. As we saw in that thread a couple weeks ago, even a well designed safe is far from impenetrable.

I have a safe to "slow down" the bad guys. I have a couple of these around the house to stop my toddler. You'd have to be damn near crazy to think a $100 box is going to stop someone who knows what they are doing. Don't put heirloom guns in a gun vault safe. Perfect for fast access to glocks and the like. Edited by Parrothead

Agreed. They are basically to keep small kids out. A thief would just take the whole damn box and open it later. Even if it's secured to a floor or wall the mounting hardware is small and it can just be ripped off the floor or wall very easily. Even expensive gun safes will be defeated by determined thieves, especially if that's the sole reason they broke in to begin with. Edited by MrJones79
