New Tri Star 9mm Compact

DWARREN123

Recommended Posts

Picked up one from Academy for $371 OTD. Took it to the range to try it out.

Ran great. It is a direct copy of the CZ 75 B Compact to even the magazines working.

The sights looks CZish and fit and finish is just as good.

Runs and shoots as good as my CZ for about $125 less new.

I do wish it came with rubber grips instead of the hard plastic types, the grips do feel good especially for plastic.

It is actually a Canik 55 Compact imported by Tri Star.

Started liking Canik pistols a lot, would like to have a striker fired one this size.

I had a C100 when they first came out and selling under 300 bucks.
What I liked: alloy frame, no LCI and no rail so more like PCR clone frame. The macger mags were nice, extra round over CZ . The trigger seemed a little more crisp than factory CZ, with crisp reset, it lean to cheap feel but I liked it...
What I didn't like: finish was rust oleum crap, barrel next to cz barrel was cheap feeling, Tristar was not supporting it with parts. Grips were horrible. Supporting Turkey.
I shot the snot out of one and it was good running pistol. If CZ would sell PCR without the LCI I would never look at the C100. Cajun Gun Works supporting canik helps make it better option now. Enjoy Edited by ohell
