FFL in Maryville?

Hey everyone,

I moved to Maryville last year and have not purchased any firearms up here yet. I'm about to order an AR-15 lower from an online dealer, so I obviously need to find an FFL to ship it to. When I look at the retailer's "FFL look-up" page, there are quite a few listed in Maryville. Is there any one in particular that you guys use that are preferred over the others?

I did make a few calls and the price for a transfer up here is a little higher than they are in Jacksonville, FL. There were several FFL's there that only charged $5 after their military discount. The rest were $15 to $20 plus $5 for the NICS. So far the two local LGS's that I called are charging $30 plus $10 for the NICS.

Oh, one of the LGS that I did call was Gunny's Range and Guns. The guy that answered the phone seemed really confused about what an FFL was and had to put another person on the phone in order to answer my questions. That phone call didn't instill much confidence in their expertise with firearms.

Thanks,

Rob

I like Bill's Outpost over in Alcoa.  Great store with good prices.  You might even check if they already have a lower in stock.

Thanks Garufa. I have stopped in there once, they do seem to have some good prices.

You're right though, I should check to see if they have any lowers in stock.

I've used Bill's Outpost for transfers with no issues.  I'd also call there and stop by Farnsworths to see what they've got.

Gunny's....   :shake:     It's a range and that's about it.

I used to before they bumped price twice. And about double that for anything from Bud's.

Agree, never any problems though.

It was $35 ($25 + $10 TICS) last March or April.  Dunno what they charge now.

Yeah, they went from 15 to 20 to 30 back during the time I was using them. But $50 from Buds.

They did relent down to whatever the lower price was at the time after a "discussion" when I pointed out that was not mentioned on their site (used to have pricing, before site became eCommerce one only). However they did point out that on Bud's site their FFL listing did show the $50.

Garufa is right about that part being nixed btw, I see they are still a Preferred Dealer on Bud's and that indeed the fee shown there is $30 (+ $15 each for additional ones + TICS.)

Fighting Sheep Dog was still $10+TICS just before Xmas btw, and they seem to be registered with with all the biggies already too.
