Carry permit holder fire and rehired

I am glad he got his job back. GM acted quickly to put a positive spin on a potential public relations disaster. The article did not mention a change in company policy, therefore employees will probably still have to violate company policy to exercise their 2A rights.

I'm surprised, but glad to see GM did the right thing for now.

I know my company's official policy on weapons on their premises.

I also know what "concealed" means and weigh those variables carefully on a daily basis.

I hope if something similar happened to me that my company would act appropriately as well.

I think GM did the right thing in hiring the hero back but I also think the person that fired him in the first place should get some unpaid leave for over stepping his authority prior to clearing it with people hire up the ladder than him...........jmho

I don’t think anyone needs to be fired. A daughter violently attacked and stabbed her mother multiple times. I don’t think many supervisors at a facility like that deal with that type of thing much; if ever.

GM has a no firearms policy at the facility. He was escorted off the property and put on paid suspension until an investigation could be done. That’s reasonable.

All the news stories said he was fired and rehired. That does not appear to be the case.

The man does not work for GM; he works for a valet service that has a contract with GM. Will this have any impact on the no firearms policy? Doubtful, but we will see. Edited by DaveTN

I read about this earlier and am suspicious enough to realize this fellows going to be out of that particular job as soon as enough time has passed. It sucks but that's what's going to happen, I just hope somone steps up and helps him line up another job before the hammer drops.
