Prof that everyone gets a trophy. :wall:

Nah those aren't participation trophies, that was a masterfully planned outcome.  Not many people seen it coming, me being one of those people.

If bernie was smart he would use it as a stepping stone to show people how F'd up the system is and how they are using it to their advantage.  But I still want hillary to in the nomination because she'll be easier to beat than uncle bernie.

I would rather see her in jail

Don't see how it matters in NH. As total votes suggest, GOP ain't gonna win there no matter who the Dem nominee is.

Someone can't count I guess.  If you take the screenshot Trump got 35% of the GOP vote with 92K votes if you take 92k * 100 / 35 ~= 264k.  If you add up both Dem total you get right around 227K.  So the GOP seems to have an advantage going into the election since they got around 37k more votes in the Primary.  Now I am sure that little snapshot will be meaningless when it come election time as there are a lot more dynamics in play in NH then just how many people came out for the Primary.  However it does suggest the GOP has a better change of winning NH since it has been a swing state in the past.

Thanks

Robert

You are quite right, I was only adding the totals shown in original screen shot in first post.

Actual total participation was:

GOP: 284,120

Dem: 250,974

Nonetheless, I'd posit NH will most likely still go Dem in the general, just like the last three elections. The overall Dem voting populous is not excited by Hillary, and barring federal charges she'll be the nominee, but the party will still get the vote out in the general.

wow that's a substantial difference in favor of repubs.  Maybe this line up FINALLY has motivated people to get off their asses this year.

Only until "their" candidate doesn't get the nomination then they refuse to vote. :shake:

It'll likely be even worse this time around if The Donald gets the nod.

Actually winning the election in NH gets you nothing. I think they have like one electoral vote.

The whole process is straight up criminal.

Popular vote only!

4. We only have 11.

Depressing to note that Kali and NY have 84 between them. And now that FL looks like has swung to a Dem state ongoing, throw in 29 more.

Well, only occasion in recent times that would have made a diff would have been to elect Al Gore in 2000.

All states get at least 3 electoral votes.  1 for each senator and 1 for each congressmen in the state.  I am pretty certain that NH has 2 Congressmen so it would have 4 votes.  Looked it up and confirmed they have 4 votes.  Granted it likely wont make much a difference in the end but here is a map of the number of votes per state https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/44/ElectoralCollege2012.svg .   NH went for bush in 2000 although it went Dem in 2004, 2008, 2012.  It is possible it will return to the R side of the list this year.

I think New Hampshire is going Democrat again in 2016, but that's more of a hunch at this point and not based on any real data.  In addition to the Presidential race, there is a very competitive Senate race where the Democrats are looking to knock off Kelly Ayotte in her first re-elect try.  They Democrats are going all out to beat her, convincing the Governor to not run for her own re-election, and instead challenge Ayotte for the Senate.  Plus they'll be picking a new Governor with Hassan focusing only on the Senate.  Then the NH-1st will be a possible 4th time fight between two candidates who basically trade off wins depending on if it's a mid-term or Presidential election.

A good bit on the line up in the Granite State, even if it gets a bit confusing with all the movements.  Oh, and to make matters even more fun for the candidates and money people...the state primaries for all the offices mentioned isn't until September 13th.  The place is fun to watch for a politics junkie like me.

People are not taking this Bernie Sanders situation seriously...the younger generation "I'm 28 btw" has fallen in love with this guy because of his "free this and free that" bs that he is spewing. Its Obama's campaign all over again..................I'm actually worried about it.

This.  It's pretty much impossible to reach that voter with logic and reason, because most of them are swaddled in the warm embrace of academia and think that they are the logical ones.

I am going through this with my college-aged, college-enrolled son right now.  Its a gut-check for me of what happens when someone else raises your kids (ex-wife) and fails to fill their life with traditional values or a work ethic that will survive first contact with adversity.  He posted on Facebook this week a personalized manifesto of why he supports Bernie Sanders and will be voting for him.

The kid's 22 years old so he's not even really a kid any more, but the post read like a naive 14-year old wrote it.  It was everything from free healthcare no matter how much he has to pay in taxes (well then... it's not really free is it?) to saving the damn planet.  I'm not ashamed of him because he's my son and how could I be... but I am torn apart inside and very distraught over the fact that he's seriously "one of them" and won't allow himself to be reached.

His uncle still wants to kick his ass, literally, for voting for Obama and might actually do it if he shows up at a family gathering with a Sanders bumper sticker on his car.

My kids are still little, but a couple coworkers are in exactly the same spot with daughters.  Both girls were academic over-achievers and got full scholarships to colleges several hundred miles away.  One coworker appears to have been much too controlling and prevented his daughter from having any sort of life experience outside of his well defined and very narrow boundaries.  Now she's making her own decisions and let's just say they're not what Daddy had in mind.  The other Dad wasn't quite so controlling, but his daughter apparently thinks he never was a horny 20-something guy.  The stories of naivety from both are a sublime combination of hilarious and astonishing.  My "never-had-to-work-hard-at-anything" 27 yr old sister-in-law who's moved back in with her parents makes me wonder about a lot of things as well.

I can foresee similar things with my kids.  The older one in particular seems very reluctant to overcome adversity.  At the first indication, he wants to just throw his hands up and quit.  When I keep after him until he finally succeeds, he can't hide his satisfaction, but it hasn't sunk in yet that he will succeed if he puts forth the effort.  The little one is the opposite.  Even at 5 years old, failure frustrates him and he'll put his head down and keep at it until he's satisfied.  Which is to say that, parents do all they can, but some kids are wired one way and some are wired another.  We can only do our best to prepare them.
