Did Ruger make the speed six with a 6'' barrel? I know they made the service six with a 6' barrel, but it has adjustable sights, looking for some thing for point and shoot bee killer loads, in ss  to also shoot blackpowder crtgs also. Thanks

Not sure about a 6' barrel, that would be difficult pulling from the holster, but I will look about a 6" barrel.  ;)

Wikipedia says the speed six was available in the same barrel lengths as the security six. I looked quick and didn't see one listed online in 6". I've never seen a speed six in person either. All the security/speed/service sixes are rising in price approaching S&W prices. You might be just as well off finding a S&W .38spl revolver Model 10 or similar.

Just about every Speed-Six I remember seeing before the GP-100 came out was in a 2 3/4 " barrel but I do recall handling a 4" barrel one at a gun store. Of course at that time all S&W revolvers still had pinned barrels so its been a while. I just wish I'd had the foresight to buy several of the Security & Speed Sixes then instead of being the S&W snob I was.

"security-six, service-six and speed six are all the same frame size. the "full dress" version is the security-six with adjustable sights and square butt, additionally it was available with a 6" barrel.

the service-six deleted the adjustable sights and was available only with the 4" and 2.75" barrels. this was also originally "tagged" as the "police service-six"

the speed-six is the service-six with a rounded butt."
