STEEL TARGET IN NASHVILLE

The shipping on a big one for rifle will eat your lunch. Welding shops is a good place to look for scrap material to make them from. Sunfish

I saw a small selection at Gander Mountain. Bass Pro had a couple but nothing great. The suggestion by Sunfish is a good option. I found shipping cost to be well in excess of $100 for one target. You might also ask some of the local gun shops where you can find targets in the area.

I have two man-hole covers that are slick on one side with no grooves. I got them free from a construction company that was throwing them away . They are one inch thick and will stop quite a bunch of different bullets . I am waiting till spring to cut them into smaller peices and hang them from a pole or wooden posts.

Also , if you can find old cast iron pots and pans they will work too. My first metal targets were old cast iron skillets . They are flat and shaped like a round target and even have a hole in the handle to hang them from . People at yard sales sell them cheap !

They use flat rate boxes so whatever they can stuff in a given size flat rate box ships for that cost. I feel sorry for the mail man when he hands over some of the boxes.

 

I also bought their target stand, was expensive but it sure works good.  They have a sale for almost every holiday which helps with prices.

Innovative Targets are local. I've seen them at the fairground gun shows.

We have a couple poppers from Innovative and they are solid. Construction is good and all the welds/joints have held up well.

Plus they are made here in Tn.

I bought some plates off ebay with free shipping. They were 8" 3/8" AR500. I think they were right at $100 for 6. They also had various other sizes and shapes and usually the shipping was either free or pretty cheap. They use the flat rate boxes. Don't recall their name, but they were in TX.

I need to make a correction on a statement I made . I said that I started out shooting old cast iron pots and skillets . They did hold up fine but today I had an old one just to mess around with . I shot it at 50 feet with a copper plated 9mm 115 grain bullet and it went right through it like butter :dropjaw: . I am trying to load up pictures. I took another shot and it did the same . All I can say is WOW !!!
