How pissed would you be if Wal-Mart banned private gun sales & transfers in their parking lot?

Same deal.

Facebook......doesn't surprise me in the least. One again a knee jerk reaction by liberals that makes no sense, rhyme or reason. It does nothing to solve a problem.

It won't stop with Facebook.

No it won't.  While everyone is so obsessed with what Obama and the federal government  is doing they've lost sight of the fact that the private companies that run this country are overwhelmingly anti-gun.  The big money players in cyberspace, of which Facebook and their holdings are just one example, are owned by rabidly liberal, global, save the world types.

I don't Facebook, but I think I would find buying a gun on there only a step above doing it via Craigslist.  At least with places like TGO's Trading Post, or GunBroker you can look at peer feedback of a buyer/seller.  I'm pretty big on having some kind of verification system involved.

End of the day, their site, their rules as others have said.  I don't think it's a big deal for the gun market so much as a PR feel good for the anti-gun side.

I guess during the next AR scare, people are going to have to sell marked up black guns the old fashioned way.

Ive actually sold/traded a bit more on FB than I have here, kinda sucks but whatever.

I am going to miss the hilarious $850 for Gen 3 Glocks with "extras" or people selling Mk25s for 2000 because theyre "Navy SEAL guns"

I hate to see it go. I've never bought a gun through fb, but I do follow a few pages just in case I see something I have to have

I will miss the "I have $300 cash and have to have a pistol today" posts.

Will you take 150 and a dirt bike without a motor today?

I've had a firearms related classifieds Facebook group for a few years, and I'm an Admin on countless others. While you're probably much less likely to encounter an issue with a TGO member, I haven't had any issues during my many Facebook transactions. Unless you're a big dummy, you can generally get a pretty good idea of who you're dealing with. It doesn't take much to spot a bogus Facebook account from a mile away.

Facebook has a few advantages over sites like Armslist and GOC. Not only can quickly reach far more potential customers, you can also communicate much more efficiently in the thread or via PM, when compared to email. When communicating via email, you have even less of an idea of who you're really talking to than if you have a Facebook profile to browse through.

It sucks, but it's there house, their rules.

Except they don't leave it there. If a baker can be sued and fined for not providing a service to someone based on his religion how can anyone else do the same? I also do a bit of trading on there and have had quite a few back outs and no calls after a deal. At least on FB I can look over someone's profile and see if they look like a decent person. I do not sell to thug wannabes or other not so upstanding types so that alone made it nice. I will miss them and if it all turns out to be true I will look into a lawsuit. I have had enough of this punishing everyone for the bad behavior of a few. Especially when it comes to gun owners always being the bad guys.

I've only used Facebook to buy a gun once and it was this week.  I was looking for something in particular that isn't exactly common.  I placed a wanted add and had a response from a local guy in about 5 minutes that offered to sell me the gun for $50 less than I had offered.  He even offered to meet me half way.  After I browsed his profile, saw pictures of him with his kids and no sign of being a wanna be gangsta thug, I met him with confidence.  I still prefer TGO but I'd do a Facebook transaction again, it was a good experience.

I have no idea who runs, owns, or profits from Facebook itself but I have an idea that those who profit from Facebook would put earnings, or loss of earnings ahead of politically correct politics. I am thinking when Google/Youtube suspended Hickok45's channel with his million+ subscribers, who many raised holy hell with Google/Youtube, the fear of loosing $$$$ changed their minds about Hickok45 for whatever reason they suspended his channel and fixed it quickly. Possibly the fear and reality of loosing $$$$ of whoever made the decision of cancelling gun sales on Facebook may make them change their mind. Most ultra wealthy people have a price on their politics and principals.
