Range time with a couple CZs

Finally made it out to the range today with my P-01 containing CGW pro kit and newly polished innards. Also took along newly acquired Rami manual safety model. I fired a couple hundred of my 124 grain reloads between the two pistols. The P-01 was a fine weapon prior to the polishing and new parts installation, but now it is greatly improved. Double action trigger pull is a smooth 8.5 lbs and the single action is right at 3.5 lbs. Trigger reset is much shorter and the overtravel adjustments on the trigger makes for more pleasurable experience when going for the quick double taps. At seven yards it was no problem cutting the center out of the bullseye. After shooting it and then shooting the stock Rami, two things were quite evident. Both pistols were very accurate and shot to point of aim with no failures. The P-01 trigger with CGW parts and polish job was a much better trigger. I am going to have to put some work into the action in order to be satisfied with the trigger on that pistol. I am thinking of just removing and polishing everything and see what that does for it. It might be interesting to see what gains can be made without aftermarket parts. Any opinions?

if you change your mind on aftermarket, the cz custom shop's single action trigger is nice.  Its nicer on the models that cock & lock...  then you don't have to fool with that 9 pound trigger pull.

Its a bear to get back together once its apart.   If you feel comfortable with it, polishing stuff can't hurt.

OK, got the Rami back together after the polish job. Got all the grit out of the trigger, and of course it nothing to actually change the trigger weight, although it feels much better. There is still some camming action of the hammer present in the single action as I did nothing to change profile of the hammer hooks. The CZ race hammer would take care of that and also take out most of the creep. I am actually pretty pleased with the improvement and will shoot it as is for a while. Maybe in the future will put some CGW parts in to lighten and shorten trigger action. Oh, and in case you are wondering, the safety version is much easier to get back together as compared to the decocker version.
