OWB Holsters

Hello to all.

I am looking for an easily concealable OWB holster for my Glock 26.  I've narrowed it down to the holsters listed here and would like your thoughts from those of you that have used them (pictures are welcome).

  • Crossbreed snapslide
  • Safariland 527
  • Desantis minislide
  • Galco Tac slide
  • Galco m7x
  • Galco quick slide
  • Galco Jak slide

I already have a good IWB holster that I really like (Crossbreed Supertuck).  I'm looking for a good, easily concealable OWB holster as another option.  I'd like it to ride pretty high and be secure on the belt.  I'd also like it to sit as close to the body as possible.  I'm a relatively small guy -- 5'10 and 170lbs.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I used the Jak Slide and kind of like it. I gave it to a friend after I found a few holsters I like better. I know I mention this a lot, but why not save $40 and try a Glock Sport Combat holster.?

I like my Fury holster and the Glock sport combat. Tried a Desantis Leather OWB, hated it. Tried a Crossbreed Snapside because I like my Supertuck so much but it didn't seem to pull in as tight as the Glock sport combat. I recommended the sport combat too, but I like my Fury just a little more because it is a little more concealable. It rides just a bit higher and has more cant. Dollar for dollar, you won't beat the ugly Glock holster though.

Interesting.....I like it and may check into one of these. It fits just about all Glock models too.

Hmmm... The Glock Sport Combat looks interesting (and at a GREAT price).  Being close to the body and not hanging too far below the belt is very important to me.  I'll have to check around to see if I can find one in the Franklin area to try out.

Last time I visited Nashville Armory, they had one on the shelf.

An awesome thing about the sport combat is that it is ambidextrous. If you ever have an injured strong-hand, you have a weak-hand holster ready. They always hold the weapon securely, but if the draw seems to difficult at first, spray a little armor all on the inside.

I prefer a paddle holster for OWB. I love my Comp-Tac paddle holster for my Glocks. It comes off easy enough at the end of the day yet is tight enough to the body that I have no problems concealing.

After I grew into my 2" space for iwb, it was owb or new pants. I chose the Comp-Tac paddle for my CZ P01 - love it.

Thanks for all of the replies.  I've ordered the Glock sport/combat holster.  There are a ton of really good reviews out there on it and most people seem to be surprised at how well it works given it's extremely low price tag (the one I ordered cost $14.00).  If it doesn't work for me I've only wasted $14.00 and I imaging I can sell it and get most of that back.  I get the feeling it's going to work well given the great reviews.  We'll see...

You will like the Glock holster. If you really want it to sit close to the body run the belt backwards through it like I did with this modified Galco. I don't have a picture of the Glock holster this way but it works just as well. IMAG0187.jpg

Another vote for the Glock Sport Holster.  I delayed getting one for years as I just didn't see how something so simple & cheap could  be that good.  After a similar post like this one on Glocktalk with the amazon link I couldn't resist.  Now after 3 months, it's my favorite OWB holster and covers all my 9mm / .40 glocks.  If anyone is on the fence...just do it.

I thought about doing this with my Crossbreed Snap Slide. Might have even tried it once. It doesn't ride close enough to the hip for my liking, but I carry it daily anyway.
As I continue to lose weight I'll have to get a Supretuck to keep from buying new pants though. I think that's the most frustrating thing about carrying a pistol, pants size matters!!!

Thanks for all of the suggestions.  I took the advice of a few people here and bought the Glock Sport Combat.  You guys were right.  It's ugly, plastic, and works well.  I've been using it for a couple weeks and really like it.  It has good retention for the average user and after heating up the small belt-loop wings on the side and bending them back a little it's plenty comfortable and conceals very easily.  It rides high and tight with the trigger completely covered and the gun doesn't move around much at all.  In short, I like it.  I would be very comfortable carrying this every day.

As an added bonus, it was only $14.00 and a few bucks for shipping.

I don't think this qualifies as an OWB holster but it's a great holster anyway.  :)
