Why should a Navy facility have to wait for local LEO to respond. Did we not learn anything from Chattanooga?

Nope, but it sounds like the Air Farce did.

"The post on the medical center's Facebook page advised occupants to run, hide or fight, which under federal government guidelines is a valid tactical response to an active shooter."

With what...their good looks?

At my workplace we watched a video, I think provided by either FBI or DHS. It was in regards to an active shooter even, and the three options were of course, run, hide, or fight. When going over the video the third option was basically ignored because of course who would actually try and fight an active shooter?

No, but some here could stop a freight train; and not with good looks.   In most Federal Active Shooter scenarios they teach to throw most anything you can at the active shooter, working in concert with others the shooter may be distracted long enough to be able to tackle them.  Not the best solution I suppose, but one where you may have a better chance of survival than laying down and waiting for the shooting to stop.

So 3 shots were fired. Place is on lock down. No reports of deaths or injuries? So you would think by now there would be some kind of update.  Does not really sound like active shooter since only 3 shots were heard. Anyone heard any updates yet?

Probably went in with a Hi Point.

False alarm, or test run?

Maybe somebody was on the toilet again and hung their carry piece on the little coat hanger piece on the stall door.

Bump fire mania!

First I have heard of this. However I am not surprised. The level of care there is about as good as a road side stand in the mountains of some S/E Asian country. They almost killed my son due to the incompetence and inability do diagnose pneumonia in a 4 year old. I will not say nor type what I think of that place. However if CA has a wonderfully awesome and great earthquake I will cheer if Balboa crumbles. :)

So let me get this straight, someone imagines something and it is news.

And with that we will be hearing all the talking heads saying that the reason why an active shooter situation never occurred there was because Obama's recent executive orders prevented it. Had Obama not put in place those executive orders this could have been a real active shooter situation in which millions of children, and possibly kittens, would have been maimed or killed by evil assault weapons.

Save the kittens. They are more trustworthy than people.

Update: San Diego PD and FBI SWAT teams surround the suspect in the basement after three more "shots" were heard. The man is being questioned for his overly loud use of a hammer while the FBI is inspecting the board into which six nails were driven to ensure they do not pose a safety risk to a stupid, panicky public of liberal hippie nuts.... gah!

Hammer?

I heard it was an unlicensed, fully automatic nail gun with extended magazines.

Wait, it wasn't a black hammer was it?  I would hate to have to buy me a stainless hammer just because some nut decided to scare some liberals with a black hammer.  I just got my license on my black hammer, and barely passed the essay that time.

Don't tell anyone, but I have several assault hammers here that are unregistered. :) They are wicked mean on fingers.
