KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)- Despite the cold weather, a group of people in East Knoxville stood outside to have their voices heard.

They're upset about the Chilhowee Park gun show happening in their neighborhood. They say this hits too close to home after several teens were shot and killed by gun violence in that same area.

"We're not saying they're doing anything wrong or anything like that, you know we don't know. But what we are saying is that guns are being supplied out on these streets." said Lawrence Williams with World United Ministries.

He says they plan to continue to protest at each show held at Chilhowee Park.

I agree 100%, I have NEVER wanted a gun show in their neighborhood.

But that's one of the items on my list. The others include

Pizza Palace
TVA fair
Anything else ever held at chilhowee EVER
The zoo
Chandlers deli
What few customers i do work for
Any other potentially good restaurant that had a chance to be something before realizing where they opened up shop.

It's nothin more than shameless panderin to these single mothers who cant believe their little boys can grow up and turn in murderin, rapin, pillagin monsters... Hey ...I think he worded that wrong ....he said " guns are being supplied "....WRONG!!!   Guns are being STOLEN by the Brother's then supplied to the BROTHER"s

I used to live about 2 miles from Chillhowie Park.  Not an area I would venture into unarmed.  That said the gun show over there has about as much to do with the local violent crime as I have to do with the space program.

Perhaps their time and effort would be better spent coaching local young people to not grow up to be thugs. Instead they harass honest, law abiding folks who likely come in from out of town, buy guns and take them back out of town. I'd venture that few, if any, of the gun show guns actually make it to their streets.
