SNOW!!

Nashville is in full Snowpocalypse mode. People wrecking all over town. Snow started about 6, we have over 3" now. Could get up to 6" total. I drove my wife to work and it's bad where there has been lots of traffics, very slick.

I think you are vastly underestimating your snowfall total for once!  6 - 10 was the original forecast if it started sticking this afternoon.  I believe we will end up with 12+.  Especially up here in Sumner county.  I'm at 4 inches right now and this is going to go on all day long!

Can't wait to get out in it.  No four wheel drive!  No front wheel drive.  Just mad driving skill baby!  Two miles an hour!

I may have to build a snow house out of this stuff!  Epic fun to ensue later.  My kids are going to go nuts when they get up!

Like I tell all my little privates and LTs - four wheel drive doesnt mean four wheel stop.

I see meatheads roll their trucks all the time here, as well as guys bottom out their ricers.

Its more confidence than anything else.

Still dont trust anyone else

My slammed rice burner goes fine in snow with proper tires. I prefer FWD in the snow over RWD. My Mustang is fun, but not prudent in adverse conditions. I tend to drive my wife's car in snow and ice. Replacing parts on my rat rod import would be impossible if some idiot smacked her.

I find that it is most of the people that think they know how to drive in the snow are the dangerous ones. I have a million miles under my belt in all weather and I still get nervous in adverse weather.

Also crotch rocket refers to a motorcycle, not a car, get your slurs right or it just makes you look silly instead of foolishly opinionated.

Opinions are foolish now? Or is that the talk of a hurt rice burner driver? I'll call it what I want.

I drove 2 winters in a Mustang and while plausible it wasnt my favorite mode of transportation.

Out n' about this morning early.  For future reference, Publix doesn't open until 7am.  It's snowing cats, dogs, leopards, and lions here in West Nashville.

... and if one of us is the perfectly healthy douchebag who parked right in front of the front door of Publix... on the main drive - and left his vehicle there for >30min while he shopped, he should be flogged with pool floaties until he repents.  sheesh.

Having kids in that age where this stuff is like magic, I'm looking forward to a fun day!

Of course opinions that are different than mine are foolish. That is the nature of opinions.

I had a 1989 5.0 LX as a 16 year old kid.  I remember a big snow and trying to get up conference drive in Goodlettsville in a Mustang.  First gear.  Nope.  Spin Spin Spin.  Second gear.  Same thing.  Third gear.  Just enough to get up the hill.  The car had so much power and so little weight that you couldn't even feather the accelerator in first or second gear in the snow and do nothing but spin the tires.

Most fun car I've ever owned.  Rated at 225 HP and 300 ft pounds of torque vs. the current Stangs at some ridiculous number and I bet it would toast them.  I don't buy into the HP numbers being posted on cars today.  I think they are inflated.  Considering the performance of my old car, the new mustangs should beat a exotic super cars if their HP numbers are accurate and I don't think they are.

On the edge here in Pickett county we are only about 10 miles south of the Kentucky border. There was ice on my road leftover from Wednesday. For any that absolutely have to travel is get some 1/4 inch cotton rope and go thru your wheels and across your tires in 4 to 6 places, this is as good as a set of chains and won't hurt your vehicle, if you get to a dry piece of road it won't even make noise. That info was passed on from my boss. Be careful out there!!!

Snowy but not as gloomy as earlier, I've no need to get out in this mess so I'm staying home. The State/County/City Street & Highway Departments will have any main corridors open already in my AO but more rural routes will be a while. It's pretty much a stay home kind of day or two.

One thing I'm grateful of here in Upper Middle TN is we only get mild to moderate winters most of the time so snow deeper then 6" is only a sometimes thing. Thank goodness the ice storms are only in seven or so year cycles.

Oh my god, the world is coming to an end, the messiah is returning, it's all over!!!!

....oh wait, no sorry, it's just a little snow. My bad.

That's what they said on 98.7 this morning... it's gonna rain then change to snow and we're all gonna die.

Traffic cams of the Nashville area.  Looks more like Pennsylvania! :stare:

It's spitting it like crazy here on the plateau. I don't know how many inches we are at but it is pretty much a blizzard at this point. Due to Jackson County not plowing most of the back roads we're here until it clears up a bit. Which is sad because I could use a donut or two right now from Ralph's.

Yeah. You actually live in about the best part of the state for overall weather, scenery and outdoor activities. I always expected to end up living in Tellico Plains or at least have a small week-end get away there. Almost as pretty as The Smoky Mountains but not as congested. The downside though is a good (or rather bad) storm is worse.

Having been raised in Tellico Plains I have to say that it is some pretty country. And that is about the only thing I have good to say about the area.

Coming over the hill on 68 into town right there at Yate's, looking over the mountains is about the best scene in the world IMO. But it is a very poor area, with a big drug problem. It is definitely not a place to raise your children.
