Yeah. You actually live in about the best part of the state for overall weather, scenery and outdoor activities. I always expected to end up living in Tellico Plains or at least have a small week-end get away there. Almost as pretty as The Smoky Mountains but not as congested. The downside though is a good (or rather bad) storm is worse.

I honestly have no idea where Tellico Plains is! I've ventured to Monterrey, Livingston, Hilham, briefly Sparta and that's about it. We're in the southern part of the county so maybe that's why I don't know it? But you're right, it's beautiful where we live but close enough to town. The summers are easy. I lost my "allergy issue" once I left Nashville. This was my first year with no sinus infection/bronchitis. I love it here!

Tellico is about an hour and a half to the SE of Knoxville. It is a fair drive from where you are. You are on the Plateau, Tellico is literally where the mountains start. I grew up between Rural Vale and Coker Creek, it was a nice quick drive over the hills into Murphy NC for the fun stuff. You know, the place they pretend to be Moonshiners on TV.

I shoveled the driveway about 10 30. It's a dense wet snow. I'd estimate 7-8" at that time. It let up for a bit and coming down again right now. Doesn't appear to be accumulating much right now. Roads are covered and snow packed. Great driving conditions here, all things considered. This is in Joelton on Clarksville Pike.

Having been raised in Tellico Plains I have to say that it is some pretty country. And that is about the only thing I have good to say about the area.

Coming over the hill on 68 into town right there at Yate's, looking over the mountains is about the best scene in the world IMO. But it is a very poor area, with a big drug problem. It is definitely not a place to raise your children.

Agreed. And it wasn't any better in the late seventies and eighties either. I'm certain its no better but I still like the location. Sort of one of those nice to see or visit kind of things.

I left it behind twenty years ago, and I don't think I would ever go back.

I've got eight inches in my yard in Inglewood last time I measured. It started about 6am. I measured three inches by 8am.

Yes,here it is 1:15 or so, and we have about 8" in the yard. some spots higher, some lower. We've had some pretty strong winds, so the snow isn't uniform across the yard. And still coming down.

Coming down so hard I can't see my neighbors' houses. Love being retired: Food for five days, a freshly cracked bottle of Monkey Shoulder and plenty of
Samurai DVDs. Don't intend to crack back door until Sunday!

I just looked at the I40 cams in Nashville - that road is fine.  You could drag race on it.
