Battle arms development for me on the next build....they make some very light upper and lowers with nice cuts done for the weight reduction

If you decide to build, this is the most complete and simple instructions you can find. I printed and laminated mine.

BTW, I also highly recommend doing the pivot pin assy. inside a plastic bag.   :D

I've yet to build a Mega, but it's on my to-do list. They look really nice!

I have a couple billet sets I need to build.

A Billet Mega Maten and Billet Mega AR15 Ambi. The I have a spare Mega Billet AR15 upper with Keymod rail.

I have a Mega Pistol build I just finished up not too long ago.

They have changed the coatings so the billet keymod upper has a different look than the slightly older lower in the picture. I'm going to order another new billet lower to match it before I build it.

I contacted them to ask about it and they confirmed the coating had changed.

 

The last coat they used was more of a matte finish and the new is a bit more rich of a black.

 

The last coating was good. I missed tapping in a roll pin with a punch on my Pistol build and it scraped across it and didn't leave a scratch in the finish.

 

I'm willing to bet this coating is even better. :up:

I don't necessarily like one better than the other visually speaking. But I agree with what you're doing by getting a lower to match. If you were going to cerekote it, then it wouldn't matter. The machining is very sweet on those!
