Took the class, scored 100% on the range, filled out all the paperwork, got fingerprinted, got my VM2, got my Wilderness Tactical Belt....... I even lost 23 lbs so I can wear IWB confortably....... Im Ready!!!!

Im now 3 weeks into the wait..... When will it ever get here????????????? :-\

Sounds sortta like me; once I decided to get re-involved with guns and upgrade my defense scheme, I jumped in whole hog.

Hang in there...sounds like permit issuance has actually gotten quite a bit more expeditious in the last month or so.

Hint: call after 4 weeks, just to "check status". Nicely. Good chance they'll issue that day assuming no glitches.

Looks like we are on the same schedule! We took the same HCP class and applied about the same time. However, I dropped 30 lbs about 3 years ago! Waiting to get the permit is the more difficult part of the process!

Guys the best piece of advice I got when I did my HCP was to not look for it. Dont think about it and one day you will go out and it will be there. Try not to think about it every day and you will make it.

Calling after about a month to check on the status is a pretty reliable method of having it issued that day. I called after about 5 weeks and asked what the status was and the lady said she would go ahead and issue it that day.

Yes Tnfan, I believe we were in the same class.... I went right to the DMV on the Monday right after the class, which will be 3 weeks ago this comming Monday.... I have read here in a few places that some HCP's were showing up in exactly 3 weeks.... Maybe we'll be lucky and part of that group....

I believe Angus also was in our class, I wonder when he applied, if so...... Keep me posted on if yours arrives....

If I dont get mine next week, Im going to make the "call" on Monday the 15th......

You may not be waiting much longer. I was surprised to see how quickly they are being issued now. Maybe Department of Safety has gotten through their backlog.

Methinks they're thrown a little more money into the permit part of DOS.

They even revamped the whole DOS website in the last couple months.

I'm sure it was all due to my feedback during the process.

I took my class right before Columbus Day on Saturday in October and got fingerprinted the following tuesday. I called at about 27 days to ask, and they issued it that day and said I would get it in a week. Sure enough, 1 week later, I had it. 33 days total turnaround.
