5.56 questions?

Recommended Posts

So, I sold off all of my 223 / 5.56 guns and ammo a few years ago.  Recently bought a gas piston AR, an optic, and some Pmags.  BUT when I went to pick up some ammo, I see a lot of things I don't get.

I usually shot M193 Federal 55gr FMJBT, Now all 193, M or XM, is 55gr FMJ.  Is anyone loading M193with FMJBT?

Also, I see M855 / SS109 62gr green tip "penetrator" that is labeled non=magnetic.  How is steel core penetrator amoo non magnetic?

Any advice on some good ammo for a 1:9 twist melonite barrel wopuld be appreciated
