What TV show would that be?

SCORE on Business.  It's on Newschannel 5+.  It's where he gets the idea that any harm to his face would cause dismay to the females in the area...

It's good stuff though.  The show is designed to help entrepreneurs who need tips as they get started, and it spotlights local business.

I'm surprised at the lack of enforcement.

How can they enforce it.  They don't know what you paid for the gun to be shipped to the store.  They can only charge you on the transfer fee and that is all they know about.  The buyer is supposed to save all the receipts on stuff you bought out of state and at the end of the year you are suppose to add them all up and send a check to the state of TN covering your sales and use taxes.  The state of TN can't go after out of state sellers because of the Commerce Clause.  Their only choose would be to go after individual residents for failure to pay sales and use taxes.  At this point no state has decided to go after a large number of it citizen for failure to pay sales and use taxes.  I wouldn't be surprised to find out a few people have been but it is more likely because they bough a big ticket item and attempted to avoid sales and use taxes but I bet it is very rear thing.

Thanks

Robert

For you LGS owners, be aware that on average 40% of consumers buy on price...take heart because the good news n is 60% of your customers buy on value.

Provide enough value and a great customer experience and you may convert some of the price only buyers... Edited by Gotthegoods

I would buy local if the gun is in stock and not ridiculous. I just have a hard time finding what I want. I'd never fondle a gun at the store and waste their time if I was buying online. That's just not cool.

Walmart and Amazon are not at the top because they provide a great customer service.  How many people here shop at Kmart vs. Walmart, shop mom and pop retail vs. Walmart, and just how many people shop at the local hardware store vs. Home Depot or Lowes.  Folks, price (not service) will win each and every time.  I am not sure I have bought a gun from a LGS outright in the 21st century, but I sure have bought a fair share from the internet, and my LGS has made a many $15 and $20 transfers.   They probably darn sure paid a many car payments off of me.

In my book price, price, price, will win the market each and every time.  In my view, money is hard to earn especially disposable income for a hobby, every saved nickel counts.
