I am just about the most politically incorrect person I know, but I kinda understand Native Americans getting offended by some things.

I'm not sure where the name Savage came from, but Natives most certainly don't like being referred to as savages anymore than a black person likes being called a #####, and for good reason.

It's not being a politically correct pussy to show a little compassion for a group of people that have been sh!t on all throughout history.

The name came from the company's founder, Athur Savage. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_William_Savage

If we're worried about offending American Indians, first, we shouldn't call them Indians. They aren't from India. Also, why doesn't anyone bitch about the government having "tomahawk" missiles and "apache" helicopters?

In the future sometime or another people are going to have to get over themselves and quit being so temperamental-like we all are making fun of them-and if we are- suck it up buttercup. Its life after all.

Honestly, I do not see Native Americans in front of a microphone on the news complaining, its always a liberal white person, why?

Because they don't know how to keep their nose out of other people's business. Further, if there isn't a conflict they aren't happy and will create one.

yanno, i must have missed it.  Where is their any evidence that this is a PC kind of deal.

Companies change or update their brand all the time.  Seems to me people are assuming that they caved to something here.  Where is that evidence?

Maybe they wanted to look more up to date????  I dunno

Sans evidence to the contrary, it looks a lot like folks seeking reasons to be offended by the actions of others to me. Gee, that seems awfully familiar to me.

I guess I have been buying too many older, used guns lately because I just noticed this. I was researching and about to get a new Savage 110 Predator in 6.5cm with the Accufit and didn’t even recognize Savage’s website anymore.

I have some Cherokee blood in me, and I’m really bummed they dropped the Chief logo. I’m even more bummed that Savage decided to go full lib PC on us. I bet not even one true Native American even complained about this.

Anyway, does anyone have a 110 with the Accufit? How do you like it?

The pc group who are offended by the use of the founder's name or the logo, don't buy guns anyway.
