Can anyone tell me what the wait time is for all the paper work to clear to purchase a suppressor?

Thanks

Until Tuesday, I'd have said someone might give you a decent guess. With everyone pounding the atf with applications, I'd say any guess should be doubled.

Typically is 4-5 months, I have 3 items in jail right now, 1 filed oct 13 and the other 2 thursday.  I would bank on 8-12 months.  Yes, I'm one of the jerks that is helping to keep them busy :)

The ATF cashed my check on 06/01/16 still waiting. The Silencer Shop told me today wait time is now 7 months.

They were overly optimistic.  I would guess you will not have it for at least 12 months with everything that went in.  I sent in two form 4's at the end of April and will be happy if I see them by June or July of next year.  7 months is a pipe dream in my opinion.

I hope not I guess we will find out. The best advice I ever got was to forget all about it it will come when you least expect it.

hard to say, I am getting form 4's and 1's back about the same rate. The first form 4 was sent in January, I haven't got back because the dealer made a mistake and put my name under the trust name, and they sent a courtesy letter saying he had 30 days to correct it. Says he did, but I have yet to see it, and I am starting to get a little pissed about it because I have had another form4 that I sent in a week later, and got that one back in August. I also have a form1 from around the first of April back for a few weeks now, so I would say the end of Aprils is soon. Or so I hope, I have another form1 sbr sent on 4/26

I'm at almost 6.5 months and judging by approval times with Silencershop. I have another 1.5 months to go at least. Sent forms April 15th.

Im sick of waiting. It's stupid. Why they don't have some intern organizing these things and approving by batch processing is beyond me. Heck, Silencershop sent $2million dollars worth of tax stamps payments on ONE DAY. That's more than enough to hire a few more folks to help out.

I also don't understand why they batch approve some and not others. They open your "account" and see the other forms in there why not do them all at the same time, seems like it would save a bunch of time for sure.

I talked with my local gun shop yesterday that has my suppressor in jail. He said the last five of form 4's he has received back have been right about at 7 months.

8 months average right now and that is for the ones that went in before the June rush.  I called them 2 weeks ago to inquire directly.

The best way to endure the wait is file and then forget about it until you're notified it's ready.

That's my plan.

Or just keep buying them, that way, you always have one or two or six in the system [emoji12]

Just got word my paperwork came back today for two Form 4's on my trust.  Submitted at the end of April, so about 9 months total.  Not near as bad as I expected when I submitted them.
