Well, we did/do, which is why those organizations came to be. As just one example, the Miss America Pageant did not change it rules to allow non-whites until 1970. Some state pageants and the county fairs that feed them did not get with the program till much later. The Black version began in 1968. I could go on and on. Racism is much more complex an issue that these sorts of comparisons let on, and definitely still exists.

A more valid explanation of the "red belt" of counties that voted more R than they did 4 years ago would have to do with economic factors (broadly defined to include education and health) than racism.

What do you think would happen if we had the "United WHITE college fund". Rules change all the time it is the nature of evolving an example would be that obama has already change/modified at least three of the promises he ran on. I really do not hold that against him...he is now privy to more info/intel than before he was elected. We are now not leaving Iraq in 6 months, the rich are not going to get a tax raise, etc. Please just re-read my post and see if you can answer the question asked. I think you already know the answer to that question. Besides, what would be the purpose of such an organization? Why would a majority need organizations to assist itself? Out of spite of the minority organizations? Out of fear that the minority orgs are actually raising the self-esteem of its memebers and helping to eliminate the fear they have of the majority? Is this really such a negative thing? Does it really threaten the majority as a whole in a tangible way or is it just a perceived threat to a few in the majority who just decide to be vocal about it? And why exactly do they perceive that threat? What is there to fear?

Context is very important in these matters and I believe Len & towerclimber37 did a great job providing that. It takes time for social change. And many unforseen factors will affect the speed and method of that change. I'm sure there will come a time when we will see these minority organizations disappear. But, they will only be replaced by other minority orgs. I'm sure a minority of some type will always exist in every country, and perhaps it won't even be about skin color in the future of the USA. Who knows?

Well i live in Memphis and i can tell you first and forehand that there is ALOT of racism from black people here. Ooops excuse me I meant Afircan-Americans.....yeah that's right because it would be offensive to describe them as black . But for alot of blacks to call that man white or yellow or some other adjective to describe his or her color is totally fine. This is . But anywho lets not focus on name calling here. But c'mon i mean really. I reside in Memphis and it doesn't take that far of a drive to some parts of mid-town or other parts of town to see some of the most ghetto and rundown, illiterate, incompetent, ignorant crack infested poeple living in what used to be decent neighborhoods until they moved in. And man are some of the people just the dumbest in the world. Hell i bet No matter of fact i know that these folks do not have jobs and are dealing and smoking drugs. Okay i will now. But by no means am i a racist......i just hate really really dumb people who are good for nothing to society:drama:
