I have no interest in buying one but I hope to get an opportunity to shoot one. My old Shield in 40 handled unbelievably well. I swear I think it was easier to shoot than a Glock 23. I also had a XDS in 45 and I thought that it was a fine shooter also.

They made the XD in .357Sig but never the XDM. I am pretty sure the XDM is what you were referring too. Some models of the XD have been discontinued, but I think they still make the standard 4". I doubt they will do the XDS in 357 Sig, but they should. It would fill the gap left by all manufacturers. I am sure there are plenty of LEOs that would like a thin 357sig; one smaller than the Glock 33. I heard of a few guys who converted a Keltec p-11 to 357 sig for off duty.

Yeah, XDM is what I was referring to. I don't think they still make the XD-357, but they may. The small frame XD never fit my hand well like the 45 frame ones did. I liked the XDM because the used a 45 sized frame.

SA seems a little late on this release, I see the logic getting 9mm and 45 out to market first but I believe the market share may be taken by the shield by now.
