R51 Updates?

Anyone heard any late breaking news about the R51?  After reading Tercel89's review of the latest greatest American pistol I remembered the R51.  Didn't they promise many buyers of that 1st Gen R51 that if those buyers turned theirs' in that they would replace them later with a working version.  What has become of that?

Yehbut, how awesome is it now that we can have it as a chunky, heavy, .380 paperweight with a horrendous trigger, huh?!?! Yay Remington!

:/

Don't forget the slide that hitches when you pull it and the grip safety that superman would have a hard time depressing properly.

Sounds like Remington has given up on the R51.  Oh well, I thought the R51 would make a nice stablemate with a Whitney Wolverine:)

It could have and realistically should have except for the fact the R-51 was rushed into the marketplace with known glitches and against the recommendations of some of its design team. As it is the R-51 is an expensive boondoggle and worth more as a potential collectors piece then anything else. To bad too.
