I've seen them before at shows for about $400. I think they were under $100 originally is that correct?

Here is a screen shot from GB, appears to be at the market price based upon the bids:

They were a pretty good out of the box GI type of 1911 but what some quickly discovered the slides, barrels and frames were exceptionally good. The steel was first rate and they became a popular gun for customizing. I really regret not having the foresight to have purchased four or five of them just to lay back for future projects.

I remember when I was a FFL mid 90s, I either sold some Star 1911 or some Norinco 1911, are there any difference, or one the same.  I recall they were in the upper $200 or mid $300 then.  I recall thinking to myself then who want these commy guns.

The Norinco is a true copy of a 1911A1.Stars were similar in design but were far less reliable .While hard to wrap your brain around a commie 1911 remember Norinco also made a M14/ M1A copy

I had Norinco 1911 back in the early 1990s. It was one of the best basic 1911s on the market at the time. Out shot my buddy's Springfield GI model, regardless of who was shooting it and never jammed with HPs. It had a better fit and finish than an Auto Ordance. I would vompare it favorably to an RI. It was stolen in a burglary in 2005. Wish I had it back!!! :(

I would pay $400 for another one.
