Trijicon RMR issue

Recommended Posts

I got a RMR to go on my Glock 40 MOS.  The 40 comes with different plates and screws to mount various optics.  The screws that fit the plate that the RMR mounts to are a tad to short.  They do not extend far enough through the RMR to screw into the mounting holes on the plate.

I have not had any luck finding a longer version of the same screw at the normal places i.e.. Ace, Lowes etc.

Any suggestions on a local place that might have these types of screws?

Call the manufacturer. I have in the past and have been sent a few sets of screws at no charge.

I have contacted Glock since the screws came from them.  I am waiting on a response.  Trijicon did not supply any mounting hardware.

McMaster-Carr out of Atlanta. They'll be here tomorrow.

Where?

Do you know what size and length you need?

I have a set with the ones shown in the photo. If any of these work let me know and I can drop it by your house since I just live up the road.edbd1bcb8171739a65b92aa47ea2dd9f.jpg

How can I figure out what size the screws are?

Big thanks to Trekbike.  He stopped by and help me figure out what the screw was.  Turns out it was a common size I just had the wrong length.  It is a 6-32. I was able to find a 3/8" 6-32 at Home Depot this afternoon so I am back in business.

After some poking around I found that Trijicon sells a kit you need for mounting the RMR to Glocks using the MOS system.  Of course they are backordered for a couple of weeks.  I went ahead and ordered that kit but at least the Home Depot screw got me up and working.

Thanks for all help guys.

Wow, I would have never thought that. I would have assumed it was metric at the very least and smaller than that. 6-32 is very common, that's the size that holds your electrical outlets in the wall, next time you could borrow one of those, cut it down and rock on. Or not, whatever lol

Glad you got it up and running.
