New Guns For You in 2016

What new guns for yourself (new or used) will you seek in 2016.

As for me, one of these will be pulled from my top pool of wishes:

Glock 43, Colt AR Socom or a Savage 10/110 FCP HS Precision in 308 or 300 Win Mag.  An honorable mention may be a Sig P320 in 45ACP or 357Sig or if I have $1500 just sitting around, the Dan Wesson Valor or Specialist.

It may be later in the year before I can score.

CZ Scorpion, or a .300BLK upper to have for my current SBR. Both pending funds of course, and for the .300BLK, I can only really see doing it if I have the money for a can to go with it.

Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk, because I felt that Oh Shoot wanted to know that particular bit of information.

This will finally be the year of the 1911 for me, probably a Smith. I'm sure I'll build another AR or 3. I also have this crazy idea to buy 3 or 4 Smith SD9s so I have the same cheap, reliable pistol for all my car/truck and BOB guns. Dunno if I'll actually carry that one out or not.

I'd also like to get a Sig 2022 in 9 and a Beretta M9A1. A Mossberg Maverick 18.5" pump (I think they call it the Defender.) will most likely find it's way to a hiding spot in the TV room for HD purposes. If the right deal comes along, I'm always up for a pre-lock S&W... would love to get a 6" 686 or 586 this year. Lastly, a Henry or Marlin 44 mag.

I'll probably only end up with about 2/3 of this by the end of the year, but that's aight. I may sacrifice a gun purchase or three and get a Dillon to make more gun food faster. Edited by musicman

Full size 9mm for me. G17, FNS9 and the M&P are my choices. Scratched the G19 due to the fact I have larger magazines already for my G26. I like variety in brands myself that's why I'm leaning towards the FN right now.
Musicman- The 686 in 6" is fun. Mine is from 1982. I'll send you a holster maker if you pick one up. Had to have one custom made as no one makes one in 6".

This year could be an expensive one. Tops on our list are several uppers for the wife and i. She also wants a sig p320c. I'd like to add a s&w 617 and a magazine fed semi auto 308 of some sort. Edited by hlb14

I'm afraid I may be going in a different direction this year. I hate to do it, but may be it's time to thin out some of the dust collectors in the safe. I have a few guns that I bought or traded for over the years that "seemed like a good idea at the time" but now sit in the back of the safe un-used. I have been thinking about this over the past few months and I guess now is as good of times as any. So keep an eye on the classifieds here on TGO.

A couple of the items that may go. Springfield M1A loaded, RIA 1911 Match, Saiga/Arsenal SGL-41 .410 Shotgun, and a couple others.

Does converting my P320c .40 to .357 Sig count? I'm also getting the carry and full size parts for it as well so that I can have 3 sizes of .357 Sig. I also may break down and get a Glock 20 for the S & G's of it.

Another P238 (...original lost to oldest son...), a 3 inch j frame, and last, but not least, a 45 ACP birdshead vaquero...

Already ordered, but it hasn't arrived yet so it counts as a new one:

Zenith mp5rs  Going to SBR it and put one of the sliding stocks on it first, next will be find a suppressor.  Would have loved to actually get one with a fun button on it, but costs are too high to justify that.

Got one today. A Canik TP-9 SA. Picked it up at Academy for $383 OTD.

Have not shot it yet but feels good and has a very nice trigger for striker fired pistol with a short reset.

Comes with 2 17 round mags, 2 back straps, holster (OWB) and mag loader.

Don't really "need" anything, but my current wish list includes:

S&W 27-2 5" barrel

I see you are a man of class.

HK 91/PTR 91/G3 style rifle. Finish some parts kits and would like to start pitting some money back for a nice bolt gun and a Sig P226 of some variety.
  • 2 weeks later...

Well I found mine already from post #4. FNS9 with night sights. Didn't care for the sights either way. It was to good of a deal to pass on. First order online so I hope it all goes right. Edited by JHC77

Home defense shogun. Truck gun of some sort. .22 pistol, and bolt/lever gun. And always looking for a nice milsurp. Edited by peejman

Hopefully 2016 is the year I pick up a S&W 610. I have been on a desire to get back into lever action guns. I actually have a beater Marlin 30-30 in lawaway right now. I could have actually just bought it, it was really cheap, but I wanted to keep plenty available for other purchases and spread purchases out some. I have plan to get a Henry 22lr pretty cheap, but I think I will wait a few weeks.

If I buy any more magazine fed handguns it may be another Glock 20. I felt obligated to sell my last one to a close friend who didn't have a way to buy one under the blue label program. Since I wanted a Gen 4 20 or even a G40 I thought I would help him out.

A couple AR SBR's before 41p goes into affect
Desert Tech MDR in .308 FDE
A few more AR to finish up-retro A1, a1 9mm carbine, dedicated 4.5" 22lr
A Baer or GI 1911
(Hopeful shot show release) Glock 43-.40cal
AS MANY NFA TAX STAMPS AS MY BUDGET ALLOWS BETWEEN NOW AND 41p ?

I hope to get back into "prepping" with the purchase of practical pieces. My goal this year: 2 Glock 17's, 1 or 2 more .22lr rifles and a barrel action .308 700 to build. Oh and work on my .223 ammo cache.

I'll play. I'd like to get a subgun this year, SBR'ed and silenced. I'm still debating between an MP5, an MPX or AR-based one. I guess there's not much difference between an AR with 9mm barrel and an MPX, except cost (gun and parts/accessories). And as I'm writing this, I'm leaning again more towards an MP5. Just an original classic. *sigh*...

Not too greedy this year , one SBR maybe a .45 suppressor and looking at Ruger 22/45's at the moment for my 5.56 hush pipe.

I may have a Ruger 22/45 for sale soon. Stainless bull barrel, target model. Not threaded though. Full adjustable fiber optic sights and 5 mags. Magazine-disconnect safety is removed, but can put it back in if desired. If I sell it, I'll post it up on TGO first.

A 9mm 1911 with a rail

A Ruger No. 1 Tropical in 375 H&H

Maybe if I'm a good boy, a M1A Scout Squad in walnut

I'd kind of like to go full Robtattoo on a Savage Hog Hunter build in 338 Federal.
