The Taurus is a GREAT gun. If you WANT the Taurus, go for it.

If you are looking strictly at the numbers, you may be trading down.

BUT, you can't convince some people of this, but having what you want is worth a LOT of $$$. I have technically lost money on several trades, but I came out happy because I got what I wanted. I got something I was happier with and got more use out of. If you are wanting a good 9mm, and have no real need of a .270; I would trade for it. Some may tell you different.

Astra not only makes a good point - he reveals the secret to collecting. Value is a relative term determined by replacement cost, scarcity, and demand. If you have no demand for one gun and you want another that is more scarce - the fact that yours has a higher replacement cost is of little relevance. If you trade and the result is that your demand has been satisfied and you have secured a scarce item - you have added value and made a good trade.
