Was finally able to get out to CHMR to test out my first AR (http://www.impactguns.com/2-vets-arms-ar15-lrrp-optic-ready-223556-16in-mid-length-gas-system-2va556lrrp-851401004100.aspx) with some less than satisfactory results.  The rifle failed to eject/chamber the rounds on it's own, I could manually cycle the bolt and shoot single shot seemingly all day, called 2VA and they are willing to look at it and get it running right, but being the AR novice I didn't feel like taking it all down to figure it out and if they are willing to do it free why not?!  Overall very impressed with the range and we will see on the customer support from 2 Vets Arms.

Start with the simplest things first. What ammo and magazine are you using? You don't see magazine problems in AR's too often, but still.

Next, did you do a thorough cleaning and lube job before you shot it? Many if not most guns need to be cleaned and lubed before you run them. That sticky crap they use for packing grease is often the culprit.

Try that before you do anything.

I'd also be sure everything is torqued to spec and assembled correctly. Bought an upper a few years ago and the barrel nut wasn't even tight. No, I mean, I took it off without a wrench.

Does it have a clamp on gas block or pinned? Clamp on gas blocks are easily misaligned. By not even attempting to cycle, it sounds like a gas issue to me, but without seeing it, who can say for sure. Edited by Caster

Yeah I was thinking gas issue as well.  Being the first AR I figured let them fix it, once I know everything is good I will be more comfortable tinkering.

I was using a mixture of G2, G3 Pmags and Lancer Mags. Fed 55Gr bulk loads and Win 62Gr varmint loads all with the same results.

On a better note I did find a holster for my LCP I thought I had lost so the day wasn't all that terrible!

Give it back to them under warranty and buy a Bravo Company rifle. For the same price you'll get a first rate carbine built right.

Ive heard bad things about 2VA. I got some time behind one a time ago when I was wanting a SPR and it had the same cycling issues.

Youd think they wouldnt jack the gas up...since thats the most important part of a gas impingement system

My very first rifle didn't have an ejector pin in the BCG. It was a fancy single shot until the manufacturer sent me a replacement. Best of luck getting it straightened out!

inhad heard mixed things about em and since I got it at a close out deal so they could bring in the new model I figured I would take a chance. So far they have been fairly responsive and didn't want me to mess with it at all once I told them the issues. Ups has been closed since Friday so I haven't shipped it back yet, but I'll keep y'all updated on what happens and hopefully a revised range report
