-not too bad, but not very fun.

 

waiting for 2.5hrs at the clinic earlier in the day was probably the worst part.

There's a shot or pill for everything. Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease.

 

Best cure is not to get it, with the vaccine, at least if you're 50. I guess if you get them younger, would be good to take it afterward (which you can). 

 

'Course it only hedges your bet by about half, but those odds seem well worth it to me. Also reduces chance of the related possible long term resultant nerve pain by closer to 70% and that's even more important.

For those that haven't had shingles there is a shot to help prevent them.

 

The vaccine can be taken even after you've had them to maybe beat the odds on getting them again. The possible PHN (post-herpetic neuralgia) from shingles is the real kicker, can last for years.

I got the 30 year warranty type when we had to re-roof my house after the 2011 hail storm.   ..........................Dah! wrong shingles!  :(
