CMP Winchester Release

Is anyone here a CMP ho like I've become and/or sent in an order for the great Winchester M1 Garand/Carbine release today? Apparently there were around 4000 orders received today (that's today's mail, tomorrow is another day) for only a couple thousand WRA Garands available and I don't know how many Carbines.

Those odds aren't jiving with my chances of getting that Garand I don't need but must have!

CMP addict here, but didn't send in a Winchester order. Good excuse to order another few cans of greek, though....

I'd love to have a winchester Garand, but I still haven't ponied up the dough for a one of their more inexpensive Garands, so I didn't order a winchester. I expected the popularity to be high though. I didn't realize they had so few. Fine weapon I'm sure.

I was one of the luck ones to get a special M1 last fall. limited to 1000 rifles.

Its a Springfield I know that's off topic but its still an Garand.

Oddly enough, HRA's are considered the best 'finished' rifles, and IHC's to be on average the best shooters (due to the subcontractor IHC used for barrels).

Agree about the HRA.

Mine is in the 5.7mil SN range and is a beauty! 100% HRA. I won silver with it at the Camp Perry Garand match in 2000. The rifle did its part..., if I had doped the wind better I would have won gold.

My IHC on the other hand is Rough, Rough, Rough - - - as from the manufacturer. IHC just didn't finish these rifles very well. Its also not my best Garand shooter, but that is because of throat erosion and a muzzle gauge of 3.0+.

But I needed an IHC to finish out my collection and IHCs just don't pop up that often.
