Any of you guys hiding in here...?

I actually got a really cool gift this year from my dad. My Grandfather and my Dad are both Jack Daniels Squires and they nominated me to be one for Christmas and I just got my deed and my squire card last night.

So cheers

Just curious how one becomes one?

A friend once said if i went there with him he could sign me up . Is that the case?

You have to be recommended by a current squire. That's my understanding anyway.

My dad is , I think they say he owns 1 square inch of land there somewhere. They used to send him stuff annually .....

That is correct. They give you a small plot of land which is pretty cool.

Corrrect.  Not all nominations are approved and an existing Squire can only submit so many nominations annually.

Became a Squire in December,1972.  I own plot 1418. One square inch that is supposed to be on a hillside going up to the Barrel House above the charcoal pit.        By the way, it's for lease!

Well if a current squire is running short on nominees let me know :)

Sounds like a cool thing to be a member/owner of.

Love all the post in the site! I've been trying for years to get a squires membership but don't know anyone! If anyone has any spots left and would be willing to nominate me, you'd make my decade haha

I am actually headed to Lynchburg tomorrow, taking the trailer and staying in Tims Ford state park. Have done the tour before so I am just picking up some "goods". I am unaware of the Squire thing too. Would be cool, I have to agree.

Became one last year.  Not sure how long I need to be a squire before being able to nominate anyone.

That does sound cool, been drinking JD since I was 16 or so...yea I was a rebel.  But I have yet to go up there to take a tour, I pass by but am always in a hurry to get to point B.  I used to put ships in JD bottles, I liked them because they were square and easy to work with.
