Oh I don't know....from what I remember, he's not pushing it that far.....

I haven't seen those guys around in a while.

The debates haven't happened in a while but the people remain. Probably a few you wouldn't expect.

To say that "most" TGO members are craping on people that OC is like saying "most" people that OC are mall ninjas. I'm sure there are a few that push the issue over the top on either side, but I feel safe to say "most" don't really give a damn if you OC or CC as long as you have the choice to do so. Again my  :2cents:

Openly or concealed carry so long as it is legal who cares? Seems like if someone is taking responsibility for their saftey that's the important thing. To be honest I could care less which manner of carry someone uses.

This place has a long history of being anti open carry. That's not just my opinion either. Do a search and you can dig up dozens of threads.

Thanks for the clarification. My first option will be to stay out of VA as much as possible. After years of trying not to expose it will take some getting use to. Guess I will have to go shopping for a shorter coat or a longer holster :-)

Was interesting, went to Bristol TN on Wednesday and was thinking how one wrong turn could break the law and I get lost a lot.

I have a UT carry permit so as long as that is still acceptable to VA I guess I'm ok. I got it before my move to TN and was thinking I would let it lapse since TN covered more states than UT. I can't think of anything from the UT class that was not covered in the TN class accept they did not require live fire and they covered some UT specific laws.

That's interesting. I didn't know the University of Tennessee issues permits. That knowledge would have kept me legal when I went there.

I kid, I kid.

Who am I to argue with a moderator, If you agree that most of the TGO members crap on our OC members then so be it.

It's worth mentioning that there are different ways of open carrying, and it's the ones that make the open carrier look like a pompous asshat crying "look at me, I have a gun which makes me badass" that makes a lot of people get turned off to open carry.  There was also the argument about how an open carrier might be the first one shot, which is speculative at best.

Either way, I support the right of open carry as long as its just that, carrying openly.  Carry your weapon for your own defence if needed, don't turn it into a statement.
