They had that same one back around Black Friday for $69 except it had the logo and I picked up a couple. I don't see how they do it. I would bet PSA pulls a large percentage of the AR parts market

Man, that's a dang good deal on the premium. Hell, it's a good deal on a standard BCG. Wonder if I can ask my wife for "just one more" Christmas present

I ordered a couple of the nickle-boron BCG units before they sold out at 99. Now to start collecting other parts to go with them. lol

I think it's worth the extra 20 bucks to get the Nickle-Boron. AIM had theirs for 99.99.

Well, I had to be different so I grabbed the Nitride M16 bcg from AIM for $89 shipped. It'll go in my SBR when I get the rest of the parts for it.

Do bolts really fail often (recreational shooting) enough to justify a spare?

No. I've yet to have one fail, but I cannot predict the future.

For recreational shooting, you don't need any spare parts at all, 'cause you can just order them at your leisure when you need hem.  Assuming there isn't a panic like a couple years ago.

Assuming a bolt wasn't poorly made from the gitgo (like fails in the first hundred rounds or so), it isn't "likely" to break for at least 5K and probably even approaching 20K. But just like many firearm parts that get repeated stress,  they nonetheless do break all along the statistical bell curve, and if they do it's a show stopper.

I don't know that I've ever heard of a carrier actually breaking. Maybe possible with a big kaboom though, dunno.

Now you tell me! :wall:

:) Seriously, I still think this should be good for a spare.

And PSA had the nickel-boron back for 99.99 this afternoon.

I don't even like ARs. Ya'll muthas are a bad influence on me! :D

Got an upper coming tomorrow.

I laugh every time I see you post in an AR thread. I keep expecting to see a show and tell with one of your builds sporting walnut furniture and a lever action.

And/or it just shows how much the mark-up is on gun parts.

Brownell's does have walnut ar furniture, and I admire it often. :)You might just see one yet.

My bcg from AIM shipped today. I think I'll set it aside to use in my SBR. I'm seriously thinking about getting one of the NiB ones too, just because. Anyone else get a shipment notification from AIM or PSA on theirs?

I ordered a NiB one from AIM Thursday and I got an email that it shipped today.

My nitride BCG from AIM showed up today. Tracking showed delivery estimated date of 1/5 but it made it early I guess. Looks really good, quality and finish wise. But this is the 2nd bcg I've bought where the firing pin retaining pin was spread out so far it would BARELY come out and would not go back in. Well, I didn't keep trying but it wasn't going in. Luckily on the first one it happened with, I ordered 5 spares in case I ever lost or bent one too badly to install. Problem fixed! Edited by rugerla1
