Argentine hipower trigger

Quality is not as good as the Belgian pistols.  FN provided the tooling and machinery to make the guns.  Early Argie HPs are very nice compared to later ones.  All of them are a bargain for a High Power.

The cheapest trigger job is to remove the d@$# magazine safety.  New Argie guns can be improved with about 100rds of ammo and no lube.  Then clean thoroughly and use a decent lube and you'll feel a definite improvement.

I just removed the magazine disconnect safety from mine many years ago and shot it enough to break it in properly. Other folks have spent big dollars with a multitude of gun smiths with mixed results on making the BHP trigger significantly better. If you really want to have a try at some simple garage gunsmithing the go with a spring kit. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/613228/wolff-performance-spring-pack-browning-hi-power

Browning and Saive had to do some pretty creative engineering on the fire control group of the Hi-Power, ironically to work around Browning's other patents that had been sold to Colt.

The result is kind of a Rube-Goldberg affair.  It can be made adequate, but even the really high-dollar custom HPs I've handled haven't had triggers any better than "pretty good".  The funky mechanics of the system just won't allow for it to be any better.

Much of the reason I believe removing the mag disconnect and a better leverage trigger like the C&S combat trigger, are the best bang for the buck.
Also, better springs make a huge difference. http://bhspringsolutions.com/ Edited by Smith
