WBIR:

BREAKING: Dozens of Knox County deputies have converged at the Academy Sports in West Knox County after a reported incident outside the store. Academy Sports is located at 145 Moss Grove Blvd.  An officer alerted dispatch for assistance about 8:30 p.m. Witnesses in the area said they heard four gunshots fired. Details about what happened have not yet been released.

Eddie Sanford of nearby George Williams Road said he was driving in the area when he saw "blue light after blue light" swarming toward Academy Sports. Sanford said he also saw a first responder heading toward the store.

10News has two crews on the scene and will bring you more information as it becomes available. We'll also have more at 10 p.m. on Fox43 and at 11 p.m. on Channel 10.

Then I saw this on FB from a buddy that I know, he writes:

Well I just witnessed a store full of customers in a mad rave run to the back stock room at Academy Sports. A guy walks in with a gun after shop lifting and then shoots 2 officers and now he is laying dead in a few feet from us

WVLT on FB writes:

Your buddy's story sounds a little different than the most recent version.

Facebook popped up with something about 3 shootings in Knoxville last night, all gang related. Evidently he killed a 15 year old boy who shielded 3 girls with his body. It came up right below the academy news.

yea, I see that.  The news reports indicate it happened outside, not inside.  But I say he is right about the mad rush to the rear of the store.
