Hats off to Gallatin Gun Club IDPA Saftey Officers

Wanted to commend Mark and the other safety officers that worked the match at yesterday's IDPA match at Gallatin Gun Club. Yesterday was a great shoot and it is a pleasure to be associated with folks that truly go out of their way to promote this sport and take their time to bring new shooters into it.

For those of you that don't know, there was a very new shooter that showed up a little late and made their way over to join my group. While we were all happy to have a new shooter participate with us, Mark joined up with a couple of other experienced shooters and broke off from our original group in order to be able to provide more one on one explanation and instruction to the new shooter.

I had to leave immediately after I got finished up and didn't have the opportunity to speak to the shooter and the others in her group, but I'm certain they had a great experience.

I think she will be back along with the other new shooter who was her boyfriend.  They were both getting better and better as the match went along.

I want to express my thanks to Gerry from the Green River Gun Club in Bowling Green who also stepped up to help.  Having another experienced SO getting the next new shooter ready along with his set of eyeballs watching trigger fingers and muzzles made all the difference for everybody.     

 

Its good to be reminded what it was like to walk up cold to that first match.  I trust we were welcoming.

Thanks for the great feedback. I always try to run a safe and fun match. New shooters are always welcomed. I usually have them im my group, that is why it usually finishes last.  :bow:
