Cast bullet source East TN

Until relatively recently I would have highly recommended Falcon Bullets. I've shot several thousand of their 147 gr 9mm...great bullets.

But alas, upon checking their website they seem to be on a hiatus related to family issues.

We cast and powder coat, but I know several folks that just use the interwebs and order bullets from BBI or Black Bullets International out of Alamo, TN

Good luck with your search.

Missouri Bullet Company if you are shooting coated bullets.

I would STRONGLY recommend getting the coated bullets rather than the bare, lubed ones. They can be pushed as hard as jacketed, do not wear the barrel like jacketed, less smoke, no exposure to lead and are cheaper than jacketed or plated bullets.

the best prices on cast bullets or any bullet for reloading will be found on the net.  there are many different companies that have good deals.   the cast bullet prices in the stores are just over priced.  you get a better deal from the net.

Volunteer gun shop in Bristol keeps some locally cast bullets.
Where do you shoot IDPA?

Yeah the guy that does these is in Washington County, VA. I've had pretty good luck with them after his first couple of batches 3 years ago. Too much wax. Last several years they've been good though.

I order from Missouri Bullet Co, Blue Bullets or Bayou Bullets - all great offerings.

Granted Xtreme plateds are hardly much more expensive especially when they do 10% sales

Thanks for the suggestions I like to support local businesses when I can. It also saves on shipping. I'm just getting back into reloading after several years off from shooting centerfire.

I haven't started shooting in TN yet as I'm still getting settled but have plans to visit IDPA mashes at ORSA, Cleveland, and I'm sure there are others.

I haven't tried coated bullets, typically I used hard cast in the 45 and plated in the 40, I am just getting set up to load 9mm.

If you would like to go to the club one day, drop me a line. I recently became a resident of TN, and a club member as well, but would be happy to show you around.

9mm and cast is a different story vs. 40 and 45. 9mm bores are all over the place and the tapered case will swage oversized cast, recipe for leading. Highly suggest coated .357 diameter bullets for 9mm. Edited by Jct1911

Thanks Kevin. It might be a while but I will take you up on your offer. I have a lot of travel in the next couple months but then it should settle down. What club do you belong to?

How have I never heard of Black Bullets International?  I live just down the road from Alamo and have worked in Transportation in West TN for years.   I will have to check them out.
