Since I'm not real familiar with the effects of corrosive ammo what would I have to do if I bought and shot this ammo?

I think you have 24 hours after the first round is discharged to submit the firearm to DOE for burial at the Yucca Mountain site.

Someone correct me if this is inaccurate.

OS, you smartypants!;):D

Almond, its not all that bad..just take a bottle of windex with you and swab your bore out with it when you're done shooting. the ammonia will neutralize the corrosive powder and you'll be fine. when you get home, clean your rifle with hot soap and water first..then clean it with regular solvents and such.

Our ammo is Romanian, non-corrosive and comes in 700 round "spam" cans.

Just remember that if you're shooting a gun with a chrome-lined barrel (all my AKs, ARs, Berettas, ect.), ammonia is not good for chrome lining.

I won't shoot corrosive until there is nothing left and I need it to survive. You can get non-corrosive for the same price or less

Ammonia isn't necessary. I've always been told to use whatever water was available in the short term, and then to follow up with the hottest water you can manage. Just this side of boiling works very well and evaporates very quickly.

i have never heard that ammonia is bad for chrome. Is the chrome on a bumper on a car different from the chrome in a gun barrel?

Not sure how much actual ammonia is in window cleaner anyway but my Moisin Nagant is not hardly chrome lined anyhow. I use the walmart version of windex to neutralize the corrosives in the barrel and on the bolt face. Then clean like normal.

Been doing it this way for a while and the barrel looks like new still and the bolt face looks no worse than any other rifle I shoot.
