Hey guys I looked on TWRA website and didn't see this answered there. In fact I saw where if archery and gun seasons overlapped that archers were to wear hunter orange. Just want to be sure. Thanks Mac

Yes, you must wear orange if hunting for anything during muzzle loader, or rifle deer seasons.

Where in the regs or not, I would just to be safe.

I agree with Red333. Squirrel hunting does not make you immune to the very few dorks out there with high powered rifles that are tempted to shoot at something they see moving and not wearing Blaze Orange.....or even the dreaded "sound shot".

Thanks guys, I was probably going to wear it for safety sake not necessarily to abide by rules. Sorta like carrying concealed at a job that says you can't, I would rather be alive and fired than dead and abiding by rules. BTW my boss and his wife both carry, so it isn't my job that says I can't!!

Can you pot a link to this? This is not how I understand it, but I certainly could be wrong.

Law or not, I'd wear orange while out in the woods during deer season.

Here's my best, I am 99 percent sure you do not have to. However, I strongly advise you do, as I'm sure you already knew.

You aren't required to wear orange unless you are hunting big game. However, there are some WMA's that do require it as part of their rules. Also, it's really unsafe, borderline negligent, to not wear orange during big game gun season. Even backpackers, , horseback riders, and mountain bike riders are encouraged to wear orange during gun seasons.

I have skipped the vest when hunting private property for small game during deer season, but I wore an orange hat. Now I have an orange upland bird vest so that's what I wear. BTW, never noticed it to spook squirrels, rabbits, or quail.

connair, I read the rules about wearing blaze orange while hunting big game, but I wasn't going to hunt big game. Thanks for all the replies, btw I did wear orange vest and hat and didn't get shot. That was a good thing.

Every time I go to Knoxville I wear Orange unless the app says wear white!  I will wear orange if I go to Tampa this Jan 1.

I knew what you meant man, I think that was fully inclusive for the orange blaze requirements though. It wasn't under the big game section, just "general hunting regs."
