Apache and both people on board died according to newschannel5 . That hasn't happened here in quite a while. I think the last was when two Blackhawks ate each others rotors in 1996 . I am half a mile from the Sabre Heliport and there's quite a lot of helicopters that go in and out of here all the time. I am surprised it doesn't happen more often. Every so often you can catch a few showing off. Back around 2008 an OH-6  did a dive straight down and almost didn't pull up in time. He came about 100 feet from hitting a neighbors house. My wife saw it too and scared the crap out of her.

Yep, terrible, I knew the videorgrapher who caught it all on tape, it haunted him years afterwards. Poor guy was about my age and passed away two or three years ago...way to young...

I don't mind fixed wing general avaition but helicopters make me uncomfortable. Knowing how aggressivly Army Avaitors have to train and push the airframes and themselves is stunning. Condolences to the families and friends of the two soliders who were killed in the crash.

One of the pilots was still kicking around at Ft Campbell a few years ago. Dude had some physical and emotional stuff still hanging on. I can't imagine being at the center of that, especially since there was family there watching.
