Magpul Glock mags....They work!

Recommended Posts

This is my 4th attempt to get this thread to post so I'm going to cut it short.

Yesterday I tested 2 of the Magpul G17 mags and they worked just fine. Fit an finish was pretty cheap and worse than I was expecting from Magpul but I was happy there were zero malfunctions.

At $15 a piece you'll have to determine if these are worth giving a shot. CDNN always has factory Glock magazines for $19.99 so there isn't a ton of savings.

Personally, I think the Magpul mags would have more value if they were in the $12-13 price range.

Anyways, I just thought a few of you would find this valuable.

I've been wondering about them but just really can't see the point in saving 5 bucks to get something of lesser quality just because it says Magpul on it.

Agreed. I only bought them because Midway had them for $15 plus $5 off my purchase and shipping was cheap. I doubt I'll buy any more.

I've had one and been running it through my range gear for several months. It works fine, but like Erik said, the fit and finish is not impressive and a $10.00-$13.00 range would make them more attractive.

fwiw I have KCI and Kahn mags that work just as well and cost a heck of a lot less...these are strictly range mags mind you.

I bought 5 KCI mags by mistake once. They wouldn't work at all in my Glock 23 but worked just fine in my brothers G22. I wouldn't buy them again.

I guess they were hit or miss for a lot of folks. I had to take a bit of sandpaper to the plastic "twigs" sticking out around a few of the KCI mags feedlips...but they have run great sense...other than ejecting them onto concrete...the baseplates simply disintegrate! LOL. I replaced them with Glock factory baseplates and problem solved.

I still haven't tried any of the Magpul G 19 mags. Maybe they'll run a sale and I'll check a few out. But my preference remains OEM Glock mags hands down.

I've been holding back on ordering a couple until I heard from someone here or elsewhere that I could trust. I preordered some of the ETS clear glock magazines and I'm expecting them at any time, so we'll see how they are, I like their AR mags. Pretty cool to me there's more names getting into that area. I have a couple of SGM (Surefire Gun Mags) 33 rounders and they seem to be working well so far also. I don't need more magazines, but who cares about "need"?

I ordered 2 of the G19 mags that should be showing up this week. I was placing an order anyways and decided at $15 I would give them a chance as range mags.

Are they still compatible with the G26 and G19 like the factory G17 mags? For that price, I could buy several.

I need to get some more G19 mags.  I've been using just 1 in the gun and full size mags for reloads. Maybe I'll try some magpuls since the full size ones I bought work good.

I wholeheartedly agree with your last statements, my friend. For the money, I am sticking with factory Glock magazines.

Took both G19 mags to the range today and no issues from either. 75 rounds through each mag.
The springs seem quite a bit stiffer than my OEM mags (a couple are new so very close comparison). Only one round count hole is odd but doesn't detract from performance.

Care to share the link?

To me not enough price separation between the Magpul and the real deal.  If I found some at the flea market, I might try.  But I too would be interested in a good deal link with free shipping :pleased:

Good on you David.

It's a good feeling knowing you have something like that in the works isn't it?

We, as in our little group, make bulk item group purchases throughout the year. Brings one peace of mind. and saves money. :pleased:
