Game Console Help

We are considering the purchase of a game system, leaning toward the non existent in stores Wii system for our kids, I'm including myself in that according to my wife:D. Not sure of what to look for, what to stay away from. The Wii's seem to be around $400 for the console and a bundle and I found a Wii bundle that includes this below:

I have seen these for $450.

Don't know if this is something we will do and I am just starting the learning process. Not familiar at all with the systems that are out there, that is why I am putting this up so that I can learn about them and see if this is something I want to do at this point. Are other systems better? What are your experiences?

Thanks,

MY brother got a Wii as an early Christmas present, and he seems to like it. I've liked the little bit I've actually been allowed to play.

I don't know about the bundle pack but that seems high for a wii to me

I thought the price was a little high too until I saw it came with the Wii Fit, with that it is probably about right.

I got the kids a Wii last year and they really love it. I admit, there are a few games I like myself. Can't really compare it to any other systems though. They used to have a PS2 and others before that. I offered a PS3 or Xbox 360 last year, but the Wii is what they chose.

If you go with the Wii some of the first extras I would suggest is rechargeable batteries or a charger and battery combo for the Wii and at least one extra Remote and Nunchuk. None of this is required, but I think it helps.
