NEED A 45 ACP PISTOL - WHICH ONE?

I have a Glock 21 Gen4 in 45 acp. I plan on selling/trading my Glock 21 Gen4, due to grip being too large. I want to keep a full size to mid-size 45 with smaller grip circumference than the Glock21. I do not want a 1911 SA.

Looking for a DA/SA or striker fired 45acp with mag capacity 8 rds or more. The grip circumference of the M&P 9 with small back strap fits my hand good. A grip circumference of 5.5" to 5.75" seems to fit.

What would you suggest in a SIG, H&K, SA, or M&P?

I know you didnt list Ruger but I really like my P345D. The double action is pretty horrible but the grip circumferance is comprable to a Glock 19.

8+1 of 45, damn accurate and the single action is very light and pleasant. Also its American and can be had cheaply

It's hard to beat the SIG P220 as a companion to your Glock 21.  It's what John Moses Browning might have come up with 80 years later after he built the 1911 if he had lived so long.

Hk45 or a USP45. I loved the USP45 I had just hated the proprietary rail. Haven't got a full sized hk45 yet but had a hk45c for a while and absolutely loved it.

Yes I drink the HK kool aid.

Another is the original XD-45 service. It is still the gun that fits my hand better than anything else ever has.

I don't know if any of these have small grip circumferences, I have large hands.

I love my HK , Sig , Kahr and 1911's. If you must drink another's koolaid then my Springfield XDS compact .45 is the only striker fired .45 I shoot accurately. Edited by Fourtyfive

Have you had a chance to fondle the p227 yet? I'm really impressed.

I would buy an M&P 45c if I were to buy a striker fire 45.  It has a great feel, interchangeable back straps and mags with/without pinky extension.  I have heard they are the best shooting of the M&P series.

I have a Springfield XDS 45 and it feels and shoots great and is a good CC, but want a full size 45 acp for house gun.

I have a Glock 30s and a Glock 36. With that said, I REALLY like the M&P 45. Nice shooter, and feels good in the hand. A 45 is just gonna have a bigger grip than a 9 or 40 of the same basic design.

Had you not said the glocks grip was too big I would've said USP 45, but since you did I'll nominate the HK45. The grip is really nice, and while the da isn't the best when new, it gets better with use and the sa is really nice. But this gun shines with the light LEM trigger.

Or wait for the VP45... Edited by hlb14

have been very happy with my XDs and XDm. I use both regularly as my primary carry although I do feel the XDm is a tad on the heavy side. For a full size, I would say look at a RIA 1911. They are very nicely put together and very affordable.

Well, I fondled a PPQ in .45 today.

THAT changed things. Possibly the best .45 I've put in my hand.

Guess I might have to put a couple things on the choppin' block... MIGHT...

I went with the M&P 45 full size. The small backstrap gives the grip a very good fit to my small hand.

It was also used from a TGO member at a decent price.

ATI fatboy with a little bit of work. 13 rounds, compact with a fat grip. And besides, you get two extra tacticool points for using a 1911.
