Burglary at Guns and Leather (Hendersonville)

Just read this and saw the photos. That's such a weird spot to hit. It's not like super easy highway access, it's on the main road. Just sucks. G & L was our favorite LGS when we lived in Nashville.

WHAT ?!?!?!

So sad to hear about.  Surprised they went after it due to where its located.  Police Station is pretty much caddy corner to it behind the post office, and the amount of LEO that travel up and down New Shackle/Gallatin is pretty crazy.

Hope they catch the thieves and recover the stolen inventory!

People...that is the gutter scum that walk, have gotten so brazen and disgusting now that about anything can happen.

An early morning smash like that...is almost commonplace lately.

As far as my gutter scum comment, that came from the disgust about a call I received this morning.

A cousin of mine called to tell me of a theft/desecration at an old family cemetery where a 4'x3'x5' lattice work cover had been stolen.

It was built in 1950 by my grandpa, and kept in good repair by him till he passed and a cousin and I took over the care of it. It covered the tiny grave and marker of my then 3 year old aunt who died of TB.

What kind of person(?) does something like this? Stealing from a cemetery?

I mean, Lord help us all, a couple of 2x4 posts and less than a sheet of flimsy lattice? There's no value here. No reason for this.

Sheer meanness or Heaven knows what. I certainly don't.

So...we will build it again. Out of respect for Pa, Ma, and little Eva.

Sorry for the hijack. It just sorta came out.

That is pretty much same MO used last year when a bunch for thieves hit the In range gun store about 4 miles from the G&L store in Hendersonville. The In Range store is on Gallatin road between Hendersonville and Rivergate mall. May be same guys! They got away with it once some why not try it again?.............jmho

Yep, that's what I thought. Using a car or light truck to break doors or wall and snatch what you can.

But...I'm paranoid. I think it was planned. Go in look around during business hours. See the layout. Then see where the easiest/weakest point is.

And see where the guns you might want are.

Be interesting to see the in-store video and watch what they went for.

And I thought criminals got their guns from loophole law gun shows and straw purchasers.

Apparently they steal them from legal owners and retailers (or furnished by the DOJ)

I'm sure it is Nashville thugs crossing the line to get a quick score. Hopefully they will introduced to the Sumner County court system soon and enjoy their stay at TDOC.

These thieves are pretty well organized. Steal 2 separate vehicles, ram one into the door, grab some guns, get out in less than a minute and leave in the second stolen vehicle. They are also bright enough to fully conceal themselves and not (?) leave any fingerprints.

Not your average skells. Hopefully they left at least a bit of evidence behind to track them down. That or the PD's need to start really leaning on their snitches (I'm sorry, informants) and put an end to this.

I wonder if any concrete barriers or something similar will be erected at the front entrance to prevent this type of entry again?  Also have you noticed Walmart has placed concrete barriers in front of the propane tanks that you buy?  I wonder if an assessment was about customer safety vs. smash and grab.  I have see this recent change at most area walmarts in my area.

Just speaking off the top of my pointy little sleepy heady this morning(I'm not usually up this early...sorry for you that are) but I thinking for security from someone running into them. Whether intentional or not.

Remember...this is a WalMart parking lot...lines are for decoration, not following.

My humble guess would be that propane explodes if hit by a car........

I agree, but why now?  I am always puzzled by why now?
