Glock Gen 4 Conversion recoil insert

Have any of you guys tried the Glock Gen 4 Recoil insert ? It is like a washer that goes into the muzzle end of the Glock Gen 4 guns so that you can use the regular recoil spring assembly from Gen 1, 2, and 3.

I saw it on Glockparts.com . It would be interesting to try. Maybe if you are loading light 115 gr 9mm it will allow you to shoot them if the Gen 4 assembly is too stiff maybe ?

I just saw it and wondered what you guys thought or if you had one and how it functioned. I personally dont like adding anything aftermarket to my GLocks but this is very interesting as I like the simple recoil springs from Gens 1,2, and 3 . Here is a link to the insert.

Dang! That's news to me. But I have only one Gen 4, and that's the Model 41 in 45acp. Sadly, and stupidly I might add, I haven't shot it yet.

Does this apply to it as well? Is there a reason for this? Just to use the earlier spring assemblies?

It seems to be mainly for using the older Gen 1, 2, and 3 recoil spring assemblys instead of the double spring one they have now . And some people are using them so that they can use other springs with different weights in their Gen 4's to be abe to shoot lower powered ammo and vice versa.

Granted I don't shoot as much as others here, but I haven't had any issues with my gen2/3 Glocks. And I don't experiment much with them.

But this is good to know for reference.
