Casino Hotel Carry...

I may be going to Tunica sometime soon and really don't want to travel down there without you know what if I don't have to. I know that you cannot carry into the casino itself, however, can you still carry in the hotel even if it is attached to the casino ?

My other option, which is better than nothing, would be to disassemble, carry the slide, barrel, and spring in with me and lock the rest up in the safe in my vehicle. I'm not going there to gamble...it would be for work (band).

Yes IMHO, as long as it is not posted otherwise on the doors of the hotel. My understanding of casino layout/Architecture is that they are required to have entry points that seperate the casino from ALL entry and exit points. The casino, though attached to a hotel, is considered seperate for many reasons.

Err.. yeah dont do that.

I'm sure you know that your leaving the 'firearm' in the car when doing this... but you really shouldnt leave anything gun related in the car. Ever.

Just... how big is this safe of yours?

Yes my tin foil hat could be a touch tight but still.

Just check the entrances and the state laws and you'll be fine.

well...the biggest problem with taking it into the casino hotel in it's entirety is that when I am working in the casino...the hg will be all alone in the room by itself. (hahaha...I know...that sounds funny) The safe is small and can be removed only if opened. I could take the safe into the room if I needed to and there is a way to fix it to heavy objects without much fuss. It is small...only big enough for a 3-4" barrel., and only about 2 inches thick. I am just looking for the best suggestions on how to secure it when it cannot be with me. Not taking it with me is out of the question. I would rather stay home with it..than leave home without it. When I am not working...I will be spending the majority of my time in the room.

Can you request a room with a built in safe? Most bigger hotels have the small ones to store valuables in when not there. I have used them for my carry a few times, and they were fine.

+1

I would think that a hotel attached to a casino would more than likely have this available. The worse that could happen is they might charge you a small fee.

not sure...the rooms are provided free for the band...each band member has their own room.

Check the website for the hotel and see if it lists that as an amenity. Like sling said, this is prob standard for a casino hotel.

I was at the Fitz this past weekend, you could rent a safe for your room.

I played blackjack for the first time, in a casino setting,.......that's a lot of fun!

I used to go to Tunica fairly regularly (it was something my father loved to do) and I've stayed at all of the hotels there at least once. As far as I remember, most of the hotel rooms already have a small safe, or will provide one if you ask.

As a side note, I haven't seen any signage that seems to conform to what MS law says it's supposed to say. (and no, I'm not in any way suggesting casino carry, I'm just making a random observation).

Not sure about Tunica, but I've heard some casinos in Las Vegas will store (check) your weapon while you are inside.

I don't think any casinos in Tunica will do that any more. Sheraton, The Grand, Sam's Town, and Hollywood (that I know of) used to, but won't any more, and I don't think any others will either.

If for some reason you couldn't get a room with a safe, a Center-of-Mass safe may be a good option. If that isn't what you already have.

Thanks Fallguy...the safe I have is center-of-mass.

Thanks TruthSayer...It will just be sub work for the guy that can't make it, but I think we will be at The Resorts. The guy I fill in for plays down there practically every single weekend. They go between Ballys, Sam's Town, and The Resorts. I don;t fill in that much because I have regular gigs around Nashville and I actually get paid pretty well on them. But then again, most of it is in restaurants that have live jazz. I can make the same amount in 2 hours that I used to playing a country gig for 5 hours. Some weekends I may have 2 gigs in the same day, especially when warm weather rolls around :-)

There's plenty of related videos to watch as well....I'd suggest providing your own safe.

Of course if someone wanted what's inside that bad I don't think even having your own safe would help. You can't permanently mount it anywhere so they can cut the cable or whatever else of temporary means of securing it you used, take the whole safe and open later.

But I admit, always been a little leery of hotel safes, hard to believe the staff doesn't have some way of opening them if they want to.

all hotels are required to provide safes for guest use as a way of removing liability to themselves from theft from the room. Some are in the rooms, others are at the hotel desk. I wouldn't really want to put my weapon in someone else's hands for a desk safe, but they do assume full liability at that point, and i don't know of a hotel of any sort that doesn't have video on the front desk at all times, better than leaving it in the room for chica the illegal alien maid to steal it and give to her drug dealing boyfriend
