NRA Dues Going Up 2016

I agree, so tired of the moaning and groaning...somebody should do something crowd. It all starts with ourselves. We can't depend on the unknown "somebody" to do it.

I'm and NRA Lifer. GOA member. Knife Rights member. And Concealed Carry member. Oh, and TFA. And some little group of loudmouth gun nuts...TGO. lol

The point is, prag is absolutely right! Each and every one must be involved!

I 100% agree with you.  I am concerned about the millennials.

I happen to work with people that call themselves millennials, their work ethic is horrible.  Its hard for us to keep them, I am not talking about minimum wage or entry factory work, I am talking about college graduates working as professionals.  Apparently this is a new culture of people.  These are the people that will replace us someday.  I believe its us older folk that will have to tow the line.

In your membership page, there is an option to turn off mailings.

There was a brief period after Zero's speech ... about ten hours or so where several forums posted a link for a life membership going for $300. I can't really afford it but nailed it anyways. Got the confirmation yesterday along with hat.

Q: How can I reduce the amount of mail I receive from the NRA?
A: Simply email us at membership@nrahq.org or dial 800-NRA-3888 and request to be placed on the "Do Not Promote" list. This will significantly reduce the amount of mail you receive without affecting important mailings, magazine service, or your membership renewal.

you need to go life member if you can.   sometime times they offer reduce rates for life membership.  one time several years ago you could get a life membership for $300.00.

Bump, just 2 more days.   I promise I am not a official recruiter, but believe the NRA needs our money more than ever going into this coming election year.

Picture is for motivation:

My final bump.  Last day!

I do kinda liken us NRA supportors to this comparable song by George Jones:

Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes
By George Jones

You know this old world is full of singers
But just a few are chosen
To tear your heart out when they sing
Imagine life without them
All your, radio heroes
Like the outlaw that walks through Jesse's dream

No, there will never be another
Red-headed stranger
A Man in Black and Folsom Prison Blues
The Okie from Muskogee
Or Hello Darling
Lord I wonder, who's gonna fill their shoes

[Chorus]
Who's gonna fill their shoes
Who's gonna stand that tall
Who's gonna play the Opry
And the Wabash Cannonball
Who's gonna give their heart and soul
To get to me and you
Lord I wonder, who's gonna fill their shoes

God bless the boys from Memphis
Blue Suede Shoes and Elvis
Much too soon he left this world in tears
They tore up the Fifties
Old Jerry Lee and Charlie
And old Go Cat Go still echoes through the years

You know the heart of country music
Still beats in Luke the Drifter
You can tell when hew sings I Saw the Light
Old Marty, Hank and Lefty
Why I can feel them right here with me
On this Silver Eagle rolling through the night

[Chorus]
Who's gonna fill their shoes
Who's gonna stand that tall
Who's gonna play the Opry
And the Wabash Cannonball
Who's gonna give their heart and soul
To get to me and you
Lord I wonder, who's gonna fill their shoes

Yes I wonder, who's gonna fill their shoes?

Looks like the regular memberships are not going up till March. Life went up to $1000 as advertised.

I'd get a five year membership and wait till the next "Zero" crisis comes along. They will need a lot of money to counteract the impending media storm.

The fight is only starting. There will be other sales coming.

Already a lifer, I'm waffling on the $200 endowment upgrade right now... even so, I know that the upgrade "harassment" via email and snail mail will never end... it just goes to the next level...and the next level...and the next level. Yeah, I could cut off the mail, but I'm not ready to do that yet.

Looks like they extended to March ...

Only one week remaining. If you haven't renewed yet, or wanted to become a member in the first place, you only have a few more days left before dues go up. (Unless they postpone it again...)

Clicky-clicky

Ok dumb question. If the whole idea is to fund the organization so it can do good, why the innundation of "sky is falling, renew today" emails from the NRA over a $5 increase?

No, I don't have any more free cash than the next guy, but I hope over time I can contribute to the organization and while its $5, at leat it's $5 well spent. Perhaps I'm just missing the point. I get confused every time I get one of these emails... like daily.

Sometimes you have to look past the P.T. Barnum tactics to see the truth.  It really is a simple matter, support or not support, the rest is gimmicky, but I am sure the NRA has learned through time, the silly tactics are needed to move the wallet needle on a few people. I say some of the NRA targeted audience are not the sharpest tool in the shed, but their green still spends.
